System Specs

wd raptor & oc

just a heads up.
i went through 2 rma's with raptor 36-sys not seeing them but seeing new sat 'cuda. upgraded to 74 raptor & comp did not 'see' it either. was getting to forget the whole raptor thing when i had an epiphany! i have an asus p4p800 board & had the agp/ide divider maxed out. turned it down to middle setting & a miracle! my raptor suddenly appeared!.
this of course is after i paid expedited shipping on the 1st one & went through the hassle of 2 rma's & paying the extra $$ for the upgrade to the 74gig vers. & the time & hassle involved.
so if you are oc'ng & have a hd prob. check that divider out 1ST!
bty the raptor is awsome!! did not think i would really notice any real improvement. surprise!! boot up is faster & everything seems just a little smoother. & as far as handling big files/ defrag no comparison.
the jump i got going from 5400 hd to 2nd gen 7200 was minor at best. these drives rock!!(as long as you do not oc them too much )!

System Specs

they are actually in their own setting. that is why i forgot about them. not tied into oc'ing the mem/cpu.
cool setup, but it was like one of those out of sight out of mind things.
course being ' out of mind' through all that is, well...
just to add a little more humor, it did not pop into my head until i had wd level2 support on the phone discussing the whole thing with other techs.
once he got back on the phone & i told him what had happened he actually thanked me for giving something to add to their database.
think it was a pity thing
