overclocking asus p4p800-e dlx

I've got a strange thing happening when I push my stock-cooled board to around 250 fsb. I can run the RAM at 1:1 at 2.5-3-3-8, but I can't run it at 5:4 with 2-2-2-5. I can run the low latencies at 200 fsb, so I'd think I could run at 250 fsb with 5:4 divider, but no such luck. I didn't mess with any settings in the bios; just kept everything except fsb speed and RAM timings on "auto", and I raised vcore slightly, from 1.42 to 1.43. CPU/mobo temp is 51C/33C in the bios. Anybody familiar with this board have any suggestions?

what is the Vdimm set at. You may need to pump more voltage into it in order to get it to run at those speeds

Well, my mobo maxes out at 2.85, so tried that, but I wouldn't think I'd have to, because the RAM is only running at 400Mhz. I raise the vdimm to run it at 500Mhz, and it's fine, as long as I loosen the timings. But it just won't run at 5:4 and 2-2-2-5. Should I maybe do something with the vagp?

Nobody has any idea what's wrong? I read reviews of the ram, and people were getting around 260-265 fsb with loose timings. I'm maxing out at 250, even though my temperatures are fine. I still can't figure out why I can't run the RAM asynchronously with tighter timings either. Everything I know about memory tells me that it should be possible.
