Well, I don't know if anyone in here remembers the old ZEOS workstations... but they are freaking huge... and old... very old! (it looks like something from the stone age)

Here are the old specs:

90MHz Pentium (no MMX)
1GB HDD
4X CD-ROM
Tape Backup drive
floppy 3.5"
floppy 5.25"
32MB 72 pin memory (unknown brand)
ZEOS MoBo
2 PCI slots, and 4 ISA slots
S3 Virge GFX
SB 16
Win 95b

Here are the new Specs:

800MHz Celeron
512MB PC133 memory (crucial)
Shuttle HOT-685 (AT sckt 370)
1 AGP, 4 PCI, 1 ISA
20GB SCSI HDD (10,000rpm)
Radeon VE (dual monitor)
AC97 sound card
48X CD-ROm
36X12X40 CD-RW
Windows XP PRO

This whole thing is being built on the cheap! VERY cheap... LOL

Half of this stuff, I have in the shop, and is used product... LOL

Total for the entire project (and we are trying to keep it looking like a dinosaur) is just over 230 dollars!

This is going to be kind of fun! Or at least I hope it will be... What do you guys think?

What's the point? Or is this just a geek boost?

Default Post Why? WHY?!?

Why not? Because he can! Because it sounds like a kicky hoot!

It sounds like something I'd try for fun, hope it's enjoyable for ya and can't wait to see the finished project!

You've got me thinking...I've got an old, old, OLD IBM pc/2 (286?) in the basement and there would be LOTS of room in that sucker....

Well, the reason why... is because I have all of these extra parts that I can't use individually, but, together... I can build a nice little rig. Well... Little is the wrong word... but, you get the idea.

The tower stands at about a meter tall. :P

Should be interesting.
