ATI Tool Beta version...a bit strange

I was trying out the new Ati Tool beta version, and I always thought that the GPU on my X800 was the cause of artifacts at XT PE speeds.
But now it turns out that it's the memories.

I've been running artifact search for a while now with no errors on 520/550. That's 10 mhz under stock speeds on the memories.
Before with the stable ATI tool version it was kind of the other way around. 500/560.

yeah weird idd, but as said, it's beta so i could be that or the author fixed something. There's no way saying without having the new version when it's released.

just keep your temps in check.

Well the GPU temp is under 60 and enviroment is under 50 so...they are pretty good.

Compare with actual gaming experiences too, as the artifact checking of this utility isn't all that reliable.

Couldnt agree more. best way to stress test is 3dmark nature test, Doom3 and Farcry.

For me the best test is 3dmark 03 test 2 and 3 - I see memory errors there before anywhere else. I see them there when other games seem perfect, so for me it is very reliable.

I always thought that ATitool was really rather good but got suspicious when my x800 pro was able to reach XTPE speeds.

Needless to say that its not quite as well performing when it comes to games and 3d benchmarks.

I can really recommend you to NOT use the AtiTool beta. It nearly toasted my R9700 when i tried tot autofind the max memclock. It kept increasing it until my screen went totally freaky, blocks ans stripes everywhere + 3 times my desktop

In other words, do NOT trust the artifact checking
