PSU decisions...?

Anyone have any experience with the Ultra X-Connect 500W PSU I have read it is great PSU in the DH review. I was wondering if any of you out there have had any experience with this PSU, or would I do better just wrapping and using cable ties on a similar unit like an OCZ with the adjustable rails, though the OCZ is about $60 more on comparing the few places I have looked on the web.

The OCZ is the better power supply, so it's up to you how much you want to spend. If you want looks, you can get sleaving for cheap on sale sometimes. I got 80' (yes, feet, not inches) of blue UV reactive sleeving for about $8. Keep an eye open and snatch some up when you find it.

Ya it's not so much the looks,..well I guess maybe it is. I like the super slick look of the X-Connect cable system. Too bad they haven't added that option to the OCZ I like the ability of only using the cables you need.

A good half a dozen or more of us on here have the X-Connect... and i'm EXTREMELY happy with it.... it's pushing a workhorse and the rails haven't been more solid that i've seen..

VERY impressed... alot of people havecomplained about the cables being "stiff".... but i'm unaware of what they are talking about....

My only problem has been that due to shipping and it being cold here, when i received the package.. the little covers for each power connector was off... and refused to stay in.. i just worked the cabled around so that they just rested on them.... as soon as it warmed up... they stayed.... but are a little loose.... still nothing to worry about, they are more for cosmetics then anything.... it's not like there are bare pins sticking out the back

Excellent..... OCZ 520 is an excellent PSU as well... BTX form factor ready, IMO, if you want some searious futureproofing.... OCZ is the way to go....

i might have a 520 powerstream very shortly, but i would REALLY like OCZ to pack a similare setup X-Connect (Ultra) has..... not sure what took people so long to relize that it's way easier... cleaner and just plain smarter to be able to select your own cables when you need them...

I like the future proofing idea of the OCZ..

...And your final thought I couldn't agree with more.

Both are great PSUs, but personally I would spend the extra and go for OCZ, they are probably the best PSUs out there.

Thanks for your replies. I am leaning toward the OCZ now also. The extra money sounds like it will be well worth it.
