I've been there a lot. especially on the case before my Cosmos. I think I ended up taking half of the case apart by the time I ended up getting my computer a bigger home where everything actually fit properly.

Re: Offical Show Your Rig Off

I got myself the Lian Li A05n and a brand new PSU (a Seasonic M12II 500W) the other day. Here's before and after pics of the interior. Note: the PC you see in the first pic was built by a shop, but I did the "transplant" into the new case myself. I'm pretty pleased with the wiring (and dusting ) tbh.

This is the case I had before: http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=NjY0.Now I have the Lian Li Industrial Co., Ltd.

I'll post an inside shot of the case soon. It should look good. The cooler I mean.

I've seen alot of builds where that has been done. If you don't twist it too tight, I doubt it can do harm

But why should you take the risk when there is plenty of room available?

pretty decent IMO. Mine however is modded a bit. Instead of the 70W TEC/peltier, I am running a 125W one. I don't know how much of a difference in temps it gives though. But I found that it did to a bit better than the TRUE black that I had before it.

The only game I've played with them is STALKER Clear Sky, and the microstuttering is rather annoying w/ high details. I never played the game with the GTX295 so I can't compare it to it though. Might have been the same. I'll try out Crysis in the next few days to see how she does.

so you dont burn out any control mechanism by upgrading the TEC?
Actually the SSD's are raised off the floor by about a cm buy a bunch of pennies

And I don't use the stock V10 parts. The 120W TEC is powered by its own dedicated power supply. It is hooked up to a relay that shuts the TEC off when the PC turns off.

You can twist it as tight as you want and it won't cause data corruption. Its a digital signal, the signal is either going to arrive or its not. When I coil my cables like that, I wrap them around a 3-4mm thick screwdriver.

There is almost no risk and it makes things look quite a bit neater.

Re: Offical Show Your Rig Off

My goal was to make a low key, living room suitable semi-hidden and totally quiet computer. I went to somewhat extremes, hand building a wooden frame to act as a side table / radiator shroud / coolant overflow catcher and be somewhat acceptable to wife as "furniture". End result is not bad looking, completely silent (despite 14 fans . ..)

The tech details:

intel Core i7 extreme 965
Asus W6T6 WS Revolution
2x nvidia GTX295 water cooled in quad SLI
2x intel 160GB SSD as Raid 0
1x 300gb raptor
1x 1TB WD
Koolance 1200watt watercooled oil immersed PS
MIPS North /south bridge waterblock
Mosfet water blocks
2 x (4 x 120mm) radiators
1/2 ID 3/4 OD tubing throughout
3x2Gb Corsair dominator DDR3 2000
Lian Li A71A case

CPU & MOSFET water blocks

Northbridge & Southbridge MIPS waterblock (ordered from some obscure store in germany... not an easy find..)

The whole mother board partially plumbed..

Mostly plumbed . .. just one card outlet missing..

Filled and degassed .....

underside of the top 4 fan radiator

Internal hard drive cage . . .

back side showing the back radiator install , plus the the water cooled powersupply..

Side on , top off showing top radiator fans

Finished product, from rear ...

Finished rig with top on ...

It is totally silent, tops out at over 35,000 3dVantage benchmark .... have gotten it OC'd to 4.6GHZ for brief time (the MB temps get high, not enough air movement over non WC'd parts), I was running at 4.2 GHZ util weather got hot, it dumps a HUGE amount of heat into the room. Running at stock clocks till the weather cools off or I really want to max some 3D FPS....
