id go for the watercooling, after getting watercooling myself i wouldnt go back to air cooling, altho the idle temps arent much lower than Air, the load temps are dramatically decreased.
my XP 3000+ idles at 42 and full load is 45. on air it was idling at 49 and load at 55 to 58

you also have to maintain water systems. they are not just "set and forget".

also make sure you use distilled water and not tap water, apart from it has less chance of getting algie than tap water, it has less chemicals n works better as a coolant

The fact that he said he is a noob, makes me lean towards air also. Simple things for one person can be almost impossible for another. If you have doubts, go with air.

EXOS without a doubt. I've been using mine for 2+ years now, and have had ZERO problems. Started with it on an Athlon 1.2 system and was cooling the CPU and chipset. Moved it to this system cooling the CPU and GPU.
The first install was a bit harder than the 2nd because of the clamps that they used on the tubing going to the waterblocks. However, they have changed from clamps that you had to crimp to screw on compression fittings, and that makes connection the coolers very easy. Koolance has their installation manuals available on their web site, so you might want to go there and take a look at what it takes before you decide. Personally, I'd say that if you can install a video card, or change RAM, then you shouldn't have any problems installing an EXOS.

the EXOS is really easy to do. we were at this demo at Fry's one time and they had my friend(this chick that knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about computers) put the thing togeather from the instructions. she did an awesome job and it worked great. I gotta tell you, using a computer-ignorant female for this demo had to have doubled their sales of that thing that day. it was brilliant.
and it got her semi interested in computers which was cool.

If the Exos is as easy to set up as it cracks up to be, I'd go with that! Now I want one! |
