Question on PC3200 RAM and overclocking
Hi, i don't understand how you could overclock a processor if you are using PC3200, since it is DDR400, wouldn't that mean that anything higher than a FSB of 200 would start restrict the overclocking and not allow you to O/C any higher unless you changed the rations?

just because ram is speced at PC3200 doesn't mean it won't run any faster than that. if you loosen the timings, you could get more mhz out of it.

not just by loosening the timings, but also changing the ratios. on a system running stock, you're running your memory at a 1:1 ratio with the CPU's FSB. However, once you start to increase the FSB, especially if it's over the 3200 spec, you need to start to loosen the timings like midknyte said, and/or change the FSB/CPU raio.
