Any of the Platinum Series would do real well PC3200, PC3700, or PC4200 and also the Performance Series Enhanced Latency.

My first post on this forum... I use to read news on driverheaven everyday but I dont speak english (understand it very well but suck in talking or writing) and I feel bad when it is time to post something....
But this time it worth the effort... The first time I heard about OCZ was the contest on DH... Then since, I am happy an owner of platinum OCZ memory since january 2005. I just wanted to say Thank you to take care of your customers in joining DH |

Hi Ryder,
First of all it is great to see OCZ really supporting the community, Secondly, I am looking at the line of OCZ Powerstream PSUs and have been looking at the 520W and the 600W versions. On your website there is a little star saying that ATX12v 2.01 is for the 600W model only. What does this mean?? Will this future proof the PSU to a significant extent or is it only a minor thing really? Can you just explain this feature to me. regards bananaman PS a ** also states that active PFC is international version only - how do i know if i am getting an international version? |

Welcome!
I have one question baring in my mind. Here in Finland OCZ products are almost impossible to get. I know only one webshop offering OCZ memory, and they added it just couple days ago to their catalog... ...I was looking for OCZ when I upgraded my computer, but there wasn't _any_ corsair, mushkin or OCZ around so I picked Kingston Hyperx 434DDR 1gig kit. Do you think this is reasonable enough for some overclocking or should I buy new OCZ memories? (not enough money to buy yet, but later) Thanks in advance

My OCZ memory is awesome. No problems whatsoever, and I have a weird configuration- 2 x 256 PC3200 Platinum EL limited edition and 1 x 512 PC3200 Platinum EL in dual channel mode and it still works great. I think I'll keep buying OCZ from now on.

If your in an international location, local suppliers should have that version, you can simply ask them. If they do not (because it is something we just started doing) then you may want to wait until they do. Although the non EU models do work just fine, they just have Passive PFC rather than Active. With the non EU model you also have to make sure the voltage switch is in the correct position, the EU model is only for 220VAC.

Shaga - your ram timings - 1-2-3-5-2? can you put them in the format CAS - tRCD - tRP - tRAS. I assume you are running 2-3-2-5 but what is the 1?

1:1 T1 Timings
2 CAS Latency 3 RAS to CAS Delay 2 RAS Precharge 7 Cycle Time(Tras) - dropped to 7 because sounds stopped playing with it everytime after 1min 11 Bank Cycle Time(Trc) 16 DRAM Idle timer So you got it right I think. I have some more options like that(2-4 more) for ram in the bios setup, just don't know what to change. I'm quite new with these timing tweaks. Thanks already for looking into this.

Well if your at 2-3-2-7 then your already under spec of the ram for Cas latency (spec is 2.5) and you have the memory running over spec speed, so thats excellent.
Run a Sandra benchie with the tRAS at 7, then try 10 and 11 also....some systems show an increase in Bandwidth using 10 or 11 I am not sure I could improve anything, ![]() Make sure your mem speed is 200 ( I think thats the setting on this board) so that you are 1:1 ratio |
