refurbished stuff
The MSI "K8T NEO2-F" VIA K8T800 Pro motherboard is out of stock on newegg. They got a refurbished one for $62. I'm gonna be ocing my winchester 3200+ to ~2.5 ghz so I don't know whether to wait to get the stock or take this board which has doesn't have the 3 year warranty.

it will be about $40 cheaper, but I don't want it to be a board that someone returned because it couldn't handle ocing or something. i may just go ahead and grab it and hopefully get lucky.

i personally do not like to buy "refurbished" items. I would rather buy used over refurbished. The reason behind my logic is because when something is "refurbished," to me all it means is that it broke, and it was fixed and the manufacturer does not know if it will work properly after it has been fixed. Whereas a used item, i know it was used, and providing that i get some history on the item i will be buying such as type of daily use it was under, if it was OCed or not, etc. will make me feel more confident in a purchase under "used" vs. "refurbished".

i buy factory refrub stuff quite often and dont have problems. never for computer parts, but for other times.
comp parts are strictly brand new for me. i bought a pair of Z680s last janurary, factory refurbs, and i would never have known they were refurbs except for a tiny snag on the cloth on of the speaker grills. |

the only things i would get refurbished would be car parts. Strictly because i know that mechanical components either work, or don't work. So if a part has several moving components, some of which, and others don't, i know that the ones that do not work will be replaced.

Now that I think about it, buying a refurbished computer part would be retarded. ZipZoomFly and mwave have the same board for the same price, but mwave wants $11 for 3 day shipping so I'll go with ZipZoomFly.

I got a "refurbished" ti4600 back before the 9700 pro was released for around half price at... the guy who had bought it before had taken it out of the plastic, and realized he only had pci slots.
