time to OC

well... i think it's time to OC (not much, i dont have any special cooling. But right now my processor temp stays around 100 degrees) but still. So can anyone tell me how to overclock my duron, then how to OC my RAM, its PC266, but only running at PC200 because of my duron.

I wouldnt update the bios unless you know what your doing.

I also except no responsibility for any damage you do to your hardware if you decied to overclock.

Read all you can before you O/C ok?

Temps are the main thing to watch for.

Also do a search on google.com for o/c info on the 1.3 Duron
ie) 1.3 Duron overclocking

Find all the spare fans you think you can wire into your box, a pair of tinsnips, some screening material, and a roll of duct & electrical tape......

Thats good

(i was just worried about a bad flash)

They can be a real big pain. worst case senerio with a bad flash is when you have to buy a new bios or even mobo

Get a 90mm or bigger fan, cut a hole in your case, and point it directly at the vidcard...excellent cooling...excellent...

Did that with my Duron when we had a really hot summer up here, got dusty as hell but it was able to remain stable. Which my Duron rarely did.

lol get some large womans pantihose any collor you like.....cut the bum out of them then streach them over the side of the case,
glue them on.....then mount fans where you like with big washers
turn on your catroid and away you go---------

Heres another one.... find an old car radiator (thier copper cored)
cut some cores out the lent of your cards ram. file the ends smooth and wala.....ramsinks

100 F or C?!? If it's C you've got a PROBLEM!

Mine runs about 135F on Bubbles under full-load according to Asus probe, which I've always thought a touch on the warm side. I usually think of CPU temps in celsius though since that's what my probes do, and I suck at conversions since I'm American.

Bubbles latest temps are around 50C running under load, but she'll work at 57C too. (We had a few warm days.) But I'm shooting to try and keep her under 54C under load before I do the "boot-voltage" mod.

I just got the little case fan out of the basement and took the front grill off it....I might just skip the whole truck filter thing and try and attach the fan cage directly to the side of the PC and use it's existing grill to keep kittens/kids out of harms way. It has the advantage of making this a zero-budget project, which means the wife will approve and give me the time to play.

(I burned my IT budget for the year a couple of video cards & a CPU ago.

)

Now I'm just trying to decide if I should chop up my existing side, find another that fits to mod, or just try and use the panty-hose method or something similar. I'm leaning towards the latter. I like Bubbles side the way it is now; decent looking 80cm intake hole w/grill, sound-padded interior wall, big PPG sticker.

I don't want to hack it up and I don't THINK I have another side that will fit this box lying around.....unless I swap sides and chop up the side facing the walll.....

Decisions, decisions. I think I'll go take the daughter to the park for a quick frolic and contemplate this further. ("Nothing makes me feel cuter than a good frolic"

Even better...rip the core out of your alternator and cut it in half...you'd have mondo surface area on that beast!

Damn it, WHY did you have to go and say that?!? I've got an old alternator lying out in my garage and I never thought of all that yummy wrapped-up copper goodness!

Only problem is the only decent cutting utensil I have in the house is an old hacksaw, with a 7 year old bent-up blade in it.

Ow, is my arm gonna be sore soon!
