cpu temp
Ok, as you can read in my sig my barton 2600+ is running on a 200mhz FSB and i just lowered the multiplier a bit from 11.5 to 11 to reach good stability ...
the thing is : what about the temperature of my rig ... is it good ? and should i read the socket temp ot the cpu diode ? I see many ppl telling their cpu running cold on air cooling ( like 38-43 degree ) are they talkin about their socket temp ? mine read as follow according to MBM 5 ( motherborad monitor app ) case 30 celsius cpu diode 61 celsius cpu socket 46 celsius pls comment BTW : since i OC the cpu the computer has crashed 3-4 times ( in 2 weeks ) and when it do so it look like a video card problem ( image freeze and is corrupt / shaking ) .. then the only thing i can do is push the power button to reboot ...

better get a better cooler. i was worried when my 3000+ was hitting 45C@ 2.6GHz. i would look into getting a good cooler. like a thermalright cooler.

don't worry. there is nothing wrong with your temperatures. 60°C is very resonable for the cpu diode temperature, if that was your socket temp i'd be a lot more worried. If your diode temp is closer to 80-85°C then i'd be worried.

Thanks
I think a lot of ppl are confusing the socket and cpu diode temp .. i dont think a cpu can run at 45 degree only on a air cooling system ..

If you were to get a new heatsink I would get a Thermalright SI-97. One of my friends had it and it's way chill. I'm doing a moving job for a lady so i'll have the money to buy one soon.
And right now my 2600 throughbred is idling 45 when I OC to 2300 mhz, is that bad?

Actully, for some reason my BIOS numbers and my WarpSpeeder numbers are different, I'm actully idling at 38-40 and full load it is 46-48.

cpu diode temp or socket temp ? 40degree seem low for the cpu diode temp no? if you dont get what im talkin about just install mbm5 .. it s giving case temp , socket temp & cpu diode temp ... post your result regards
