Big Grin Record 3dmark score!

I am pleased to announce to all of the Computer Enthusiast world, that JCviggen has just obliterated the MadOnion ORB with a world record scorching, default benchmark score of 22,103 in 3DMark 2001 utilizing his Abit equipped, Prometeia cooled Intel P4 system running at 4151Mhz.
This score currently tops those submitted by world renowned benchers that have utilized LN2 and Dry Ice cooling, with the aid of Chip-con's Prometeia phase change case and an ABIT IT-7 motherboard.

That is one HIGH ASS number. Maybe we can see that in 2 years without having to overclock.

What's even weirder, is that SUPPOSEDLY the NV30 can do all this at only 3.06 ghz...who knows...

nVidia is taking a dive here... They didn't go with a 256bit core. Then NV35.... it's not gonna be so raw... From the sounds of how hot the NV30 runs it seems like they are hitting a limit on the 128 bit core.... Or at least getting to the limit.

Notice that he's not using DirectX 9. Do you guys suppose he could get an even higher number if he upgraded?

heh I tend to ignore the scores that don't run all the tests, whats the point of high scores if your system will crash & burn?

Very true alistair... Most of us don't have the patience to run all the tests though.

256-bit core? what the hell crack are you smoking?

128-bit is the highest any GPU goes now, and 256-bit is crazy...if you mean 256-bit MEMORY then yeah, it sucks that nvidia isn't going with that...but 1 GHZ 128-bit memory is still awesome.

Will all of my friends with under 5000 3dmarks come with me for a therapy session here in the corner, while we compare our nice, high, 3dmark2000 scores next to y'alls' 3dmark2001 scores? However, Viggen is now really really cool in my book. Now if he would only put that Prometia to work on the GPU, get some LN2 for the cpu and chilled-to-slushee-anti-freeze liquid cooling for the vram and the sysram, then we'll see some real sparks fly...

LN2 is nice and all, but you can only use it for a short time. JCViggen, Opp, DJ, et al do all their runs with water and/or phase-change, which means their systems can run those speeds day in and day out. No point in overclocking your 486SX/25 to 6000mhz if its just going to break the die and fry everything else in 2 minutes.

I'm thinking you aren't using default settings or you have something terribly, terribly, terribly set wrong in the controls for the card... What settings are you using?

I saw like looking at the hall of fame, my 13.2K is extremely nice for AMD/Ti4200, hehe, so I'm happy with that.

System Specs

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=4797388 there is #1 he ran all the tests, so he has at least a little stability overclocked like that. As I said earlier why overclock if your system will burn up? You don't have to be watching the whole thing, I know I don't I watch tv and glance over once in a while to make sure it hasn't locked up on me yet.
