FX-57 question.....

From what i'm reading the FX-57 is not a very good overclocker.What have you guys herd or read????....thanks!

I've heard/seen the exact opposite. Its a damn good clocker for most parts. Have seen many @ 3.3GHz on water, and up to 3.5GHz on phase.

Oh,GEEZ!I guess so on phase.I would think even more with that type of cooling.Sorry I didnt clarify myself better.I'm talking about air or water.I saw 1 guy on the 3DMARK05 website at 3.7!What I wouldnt give for phase cooling!!!!!!....Thanks

I really dont know Z.I will upgrade GFX cards most times twice per year and new everything else once per year.But I have 2 show cars{a 67 Vette & a 70 Plymouth Superbird} and 2 Harley-Davidson motorcycles that take up a WHOLE LOT more $$$$ than computers.BUT,the cars and bikes are appreciating.I wished I could say the same for computer equipment.Thats why my wife is not crazy avbout the computer equipment.Buy whatever today and in 3 months it's worth 66% of what you paid for it.....and thats on the high end stuff.

Well if you can drop over a grand for a Processor, I'm sure you cuold dig up some cash for phase-change cooling like a VapoChill.

You should be able to get 200MHz out of it but after that its all in the luck of the draw. However if you are in the market for a new cpu definitely go with an X2

They will probably make a 64 X2 FX, then a 64 X3, and after that will probably make a 64 x3 FX. Seems that would be the smart trend.

Yep,she's a BIG block.427/435{is there anything else?},Wonder Bar Radio,Big brake option,spinner wheels,M22"Rock Crusher"trans...I even have"Goodyear"Polyglass" redwall tires on her.It rides like a 2 horse wagon!I have a CD saomewhere around here with pics of both of them.I will try and find it & post some....thanks.

the X2 is the only AMD cpu I would choose to be honest. being a long time lover of HT it is the only way to go. Single cored AMD is great for gaming but not so good for everything else. X2 are AMDs best mainstream CPUs IMO. unless all I wanted to do was game and overclock the hell of a processor I wouldnt even contemplate a FX57

Have to torture the 57, so evap. temp not less than -97C (less and screen literally froze)....

Check the vcore
