Added one fan and lost 4 more degrees celcius
Well i didnt really want to but i did open up a new hole in my new 260 euro case.
I felt the need to try and see if i would have a overall temp. improvement and guess what ??.....I DID..hehehe Well the new fan is a 80mm low noise globalwin fan (i dont have the specs right now) that i installed in the case ceiling between the PSU and drive bays. Results were seen from the start as i noticed my overall case temps didnt go above 26 degrees celc. And my CPU loved the change as it never goes above 47 now. Note the CPU is overclocked with a 144 fsb(default 133) and its voltage is at 1.9 v(default 1.72). My point: The only fan that will never cause harm but will allways help is a ceiling fan as we all know "heat rises". Having one of these fans helps get rid of the hot air trapped at the top of your case resulting in better conditions for drives, psu and overall case temps. Right now all the case fans im running are: 1) side panel 80mm intake fan (2400 rpm) 2) rear end exhaust 60mm (seated between cpu and agp card) 3) my new ceiling fan also exhaust The rest of the fans are: a) the cpu cooler (80mm smart fan) b) a 35mm chipset cooler c) a pci slot cooler for my graphics card (a must for over clockers that dont have extreme cooling(water). Ill try to get some newer photos as soon as my buddy with his new dig cam shows up...hehehe |

Sounds great. One thing to keep in mind though is the fact that more fans don't always help - you need to have a direction for the air circulation, so if you have twenty fans blowing into the case, none of the cold air is really going to get much of anywhere and it won't help as much as having five fans blowing in and five fans blowing out, with the intake fans on one side and the output fans on the opposite side...

I i think ive been misunderstood.
I have quite a bit knowlegde in the air cooling dept. mostly from cutting up a few cases and experimenting with fans. even used smoke to see the air flow once. I basicly posted the above as a tip to others. I dont need more than 3 fans total in my case(not counting the cpu.chipset and vidcard). all one needs is : 1) a good intake from front or side panel (8x8cm recomended) 2) a rear end fan as exhaust (most newer cases have a 6x6 cm but i fitted a 8x8 with an adapter) 3)if possible one ceiling fan to keep the upper end of the case cooler so heat dont back up all the way down to the mobo) A ceiling fan is usually the first thing i do to a new case but this one costed too much to risk scratching thats why i felt the need to post the result. |

Don't worry - I wasn't really talking to you
Whenever there is a thread that gets me thinkin, I post in the hopes that some n00b will see that post when he searches the forum for the topic at hand, not necesarily related directly to what you were talking about. Sorry if there was any confusion

Ok its like i see Digi at his PC surfing the net next to his monster 12 inch fan with his head slightly tilted as he is being sucked in .... Meanwhile on the other side of the room one of the kids is strapped in to its seat with a piece of thick rope but the seat itsself has wheels resulting in the kid slowing rolling towards digi"s PC. And finaly i see his wife in the kitchen holding on to the counter(for her life) with her finger nails scratching away the top of the counter surface but she knows that this is a lost battle for the 12 inch monster will not give up till it eats the whole world. Man i really got to stop taking this acid....hehehe |

I have dual 6 inch fans cooling my computer.
My cpu is a pIII700@960MHz running at 1.9 volts, after playing UT2k3 for a few hours its temp hasn't rose above 36 degrees celcius

Well, if we are going to get into bragging, when my case is complete (a.k.a. I have the side hooked up and my 6 IDE cables far enough out of the way they don't grind up in the 2 120's in the side of my window), I never go more than 10 celcius above ambient in the room - as it is, with my 120's not hooked up properly, its around 15C above ambient. Hey, just out of curiosity, what do y'all think about measuring temperatures? I feel that they should be measured relative to ambient, not in absolute (aka saying 14C above ambient (22C) (or as I abbev. it, 14C aa 22) instead of saying "36C", as that might be considered a terrible temperature in Siberia, while that would be incredible in Egypt...
