Voltage modifying the MSI KT3

!WARNING!
THIS PROCEDURE WILL VOID YOUR MOTHERBOARD WARRANTY!

This is a voltage modification for the MSI KT3 Ultra/Ultra2.

First you will need to locate the HIP6302 chip that is located near the ATX power connector. There are two IC chips that look very similar... make sure that you only modify the HIP6302!

You will need to locate pin 7, and pin 9.

Once you have located the two pins that you will need. Time to start soldering.

You will need to solder an 18k resistor onto pin7, and pin9.

When you have finished it should look something like this:

Congratulations... Now when you select 1.8 volts for your vcore... you are actually getting 2.0!

Now it is time for some extreme overclocking!

Some quick words of warning.

1) This will void your warranty!
2) This is not for newbies! You can destroy your CPU, Motherboard, or both!
3) Unless you have EXCELLENT cooling... you had better not do this!
4) Driverheaven.net, Myself, or any other member CAN NOT be held responsible for any action that you take!

Now for the serious legal mumbo jumbo...

Thank you!!! this is a very clear voltmod for my mainboard (1.85V max isn't that high) But since I'm going for an epox 8RDA+ anyway... Aw hell, I'll try it!

You are welcome... I believe that the MSI KT3 series of motherboards are excellent overclockers... except for the fact that the Vcore only reaches 1.85, with this mod it can reach much higher!

Makes it a very effective motherboard, at an excellent price

BTW, you can use IC Clips... (these are very tiny little alligator clipd designed for connecting to an IC chip.) they are around 3 dollars at RadioShack... This will also make the modification removable! Good Luck!
