Help with RAM timings and settings

I got some Apacer (??/) Generic 512 MB DDR PC2100 CL2 Ram, and yet, all I can get is:

Cas Latency 2 clocks
Ras to Cas Delay 2 clocks
Ras Precharge 3 clocks
Cycle Time 5 clocks

and the command rate is 1T

I'm running this on my A7V333 motherboard (my A7V266 crapped out on me)

Anyone think they can get the last timing up there for me. My system runs liek crap if I enable it in the Bios, and I've used Wpcredit to try it during windows, and it can't run Sandra, 3dMark2001 or Prime95 at 2-2-2-5-1.

I know it's prolly the RAM but is there any hope for it, I can't afford PC3200 Ram right now, lol.

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question, but wanted to say that Apacer actually is a decent brand of RAM.

Apacer is the memory division of Acer/AOpen.

im not sure I understand your question either.... the figures you quote here are good.. is it that you WANT to get these figures ??? lower figures are better.

I'm trying to get the last timing Ras Precharge, down to 2 from 3 so that I can have my memory timings on fastest settings. My FSB isn't OC'ed either so I dunno.

Some memory won't do the fastest timings without a little help. Kick up the voltage a little bit -- see if that helps.

before you start pulling your hair out over this one...try looping some benchmarks or demos over and over for abit...ram is like a fine wine..they get better with age. a burn-in period might do the trick before you can lower the timings.

My CUSL2-C seems to eat it over time if it ain't matched pairs....are you sure?

i have no factual basis to prove this...but it seemed to do the trick on my end. worse case scenario: your ram isn't susceptible to a burn in period and you've tested the system's stability.

Hmmmm....maybe that's why I'm able to clock her a bit higher now. Thanks, I'll try some experimenting.

So if I let Prime95 run for a good couple of hours that would help. I finally found out how to up the voltage (some nice hidden jumpers on the board) so I'll throw it up if needed, I lowered it down because on defaults it's too high according to muskin (look a little down for Asus A7V333)
