XP2100 with a 1000mhz overclock? YES it is TRUE!
Check this stuff out. This is AMAZING! Looks like the XP2100 AIUHB stepping is the new golden CPU...

Thats truly amazing... and once I see a store that guarantees that they are shipping this new stepping, I am there! Damn... I have some of the best air cooling you can get... so I'm hoping for maybe 800mhz more than what I'm currently running, 1.6ghz...

Man, I could go for that I sell this 2000 in a flash. Although this guy is running Promethia cooling.

Oh, ya, I just noticed that the other guy got to 2.4ghz with a Prometia too - my hopes have been dashed
I think I'm going to wait and see if aircooling people have a good shot at getting those insane overclocks - my current AGKGA K gets to 1764 at most... but someone with compressor-cooled slushee-style antifreeze liquid cooling got my same stepping up to 2 ghz...

HA! I'm still just trying to slowly get to a 200mhz bus. Then overclocking I go. It's an aquired art. You can't rush it.

"the Highest I tried with 3dmark2001 so far was 2750, which it did pass, but only registerd as AGP 1X and I can't figure out why yet..."
this is rather useless overclock he cant run 3dmark,he`s barely stable to run sandra,no prime screenshots

Dude. We're talking about AMD....not intel. Almost anyone can get a 1000mhz overclock on a P4.

Dude. You dont know nothing about p4...
you missed the point,it would be interesting to see how high can it go but remain fully stable(eg can run 3d mark, prime etc)

Ok.....but the newer AMD's usually just do 200 - 400 mhz overclock the most. Intel's can go 1000 (anything norwood)..... That's my point. Your overclock isn't much for you. That AMD overclock is AMAZING.

Now this better not get nasty guys or i will have to close it.
This is not a debate about Intel vs Amd.(go to the Flamming zone for that) Its only an article about a man that took a 90 $ cpu and took it to its limit....so please treat that way. Extreme overclocking isnt only about getting a high stable speed but actually finding a CPUs limit and getting it to run long enough to be able to record its speed. |

I had the amd rigs before and still own one.In every forum i`ve seen similar behavior.I usually put p4`s in my sig and if i comment on amd there is always a noob who think that i`m not entitled to post about amd. If I put all my computers in sig,it`ll be longer that dig`s sig.

Sort of on topic, I ghetto modded my Duron's heatsink with an 80mm fan that I could only screw one screw into and propped it off center to the heatsink (his other fan's bearings fused together...that POS pot metal box I have it in helps to create super-temperatures...anyway, was usually getting around 43-45 degrees idle, 54-59 degrees load/gaming...now with that thing...I get temps like my P4 (which I replaced the heatsink on, because I hadn't bought any comp parts in a while...hehe) about 31-33 idle, 46-48 load...little hotter than my Willy, but still REALLY good for a 750 duron locked, but at 133 FSB...
Maybe that would work for ya? Putting that fan off center blows MASSIVE air into the vital parts of that sink. Ghetto mods rock (like shit I'm spending 10 bucks on a shipped HSF for my duron!) |
