I have a watercooled saphire 9700pro. I can reach over 400mhz core. My ram just has copper ram sinks with fans attached to them and I can reach 351 with the ram. I'm sure I could go higher but I was acctually just trying it out for a little bit, I run it at the stock speeds right now.

Damn that's a nice o/c toddsmack! Mine hits 370/340 only after removing the shim and flashing to the newest BIOS

just installed my r9700 and going to determine if a clean OS install really helps or not when putting in new hardware. I completely removed all traces of my r8500 prior to inserting r9700. Now at all stock speeds with xp1700, 2x256 Samsung pc2700 (2.5 3-6-2-2T) and r9700 got me a 3dmark of 11950, 11938 and 11970. It is retail built by ATI r9700 pro.

Nice score shuki, My 2100 and its inability to easily oc and cheap memory is what hurts me. My knowledge oc ocing(noob) probably doesnt help much either . Bet when you turn it up you get some nice scores.seems like all these 9700's like some good overclocking

heh, I know, I'm just getting greedy It sucks cause my original card would do 385 on the core but wouldn't work in 8x agp. I'm happy with it though, 'till my R350 arrives

My highest tested speed w/ stock cooling is 345 VPU / 333 RAM, which resulted in over 116fps in 3DMark Nature test.
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=5306004

Temperatures at these speeds peak at 44deg C (101 f) VPU, 60deg C (140 f) RAM. That's w/ stock cooling and GOOD airflow over the unit. VPU has a slot fan sucking air off it's HSF, and the RAM lives in a turbulent airzone. I am reluctant to physically modify the card as I would need it to revert back to 'original' in the future, and there are no temporary cooling solutions better than the stock one.

I am curious to know what numerical (benchmark) benefits further speeds induce before I bother going further. Can anyone show me a good Nature score combined with it's corresponding VPU/RAM rates? Curious.

Check out my link on the previous page the nature score is definitely higher with a higher core value.
