Flaky XP2000 on Abit NF7

I have just recently been clocking my CPU higher on this board. I had to coax it up to 200 CPU clock. Now that I have it I cannot really get higher. I drop the multiplier to 9 and the FSB to 190...and slowly move the FSB up. 192 ok. 193 ok. 195 not ok. Boots to windows. Try to run 3Dmark and it closes after the first car test finished. Think that my ram timings were too high (6-2-2-2)? I have not had problems running those timings at 200 with a lower multiplier. This is bugging me. I'm trying to hit 1800mhz. I want XP2200 speeds. Should I do a burn in at each step that I do?

My voltages for ram are 2.6.....there is no need I need to make them higher because they have ran 2.6 at 200 mhz for the last couple days. I set my Vcore to 1.8 (at 1.75 now for 1700mhz) for anything higher than what I have now.

What else am I missing? Should I be burning at every step? Help.

I have yet to see a NF7 do over 188mhz in a review, so consider yourself lucky! Are you sure the PCI/AGP is staying locked at those speeds? Even though you should be able to do 200 @ 2.6v, jack it up just to make sure. Burning in will help, but it won't give you higher FSB than before.

I have done 200....... I am running 200 right now....4-2-2-2 timings (VERY NICE!!!) But I want a higher speed overall, like i want something higher than 1667 mhz....I have 1700 now... But I want something like 1800 mhz. Why can't I hit it?

i dunno why yours wont go there... my XP2000 ran 1833MHz straight out of the box @ 1.85v (note: wont do it at any less than 1.85v), have you tried going for higher clock speeds with a lower fsb first, then try and match that at higher fsb??

Sounds like the cpu don't wanna go any higher. Try giving it 1.85v and see if it helps.

I went down to 180FSB and it still was no go. Although I don't think I was ever using more than 1.8v

edit: Think that I should raise the chipset voltage a little bit too?

If it makes you feel any better, I could not get my 2000+ over 1750MHz. I was pretty dissapointed myself; it's all in the luck of the grab. Btw, your board allows you to change the chipset voltage? If so that is awesome and it sucks for me at the same time. I had the choice between the NF7 or the Epox 8rda and grabbed this in hopes of a 200 fsb which it cannot do. I think I made the wrong choice

My board claims 237FSB. I haven't tried that high though.
