Sad crackles in speakers

Hello. I have Audigy 2 ZS and Windows 7 x64. When I have more than 70% volume in windows volume settings i hear crackles/pop in the my 5.1 speakers - Genius 5050V2. This crackles are probably dependentby bass in music, becouse when i move bass balance to -12db (in windows volume settings) then there is no crackles. I tried PAX 2.60, 3.25 and 3.35 versions.

Sorry for my bad english, I from Poland.

Hi welcome I be working on test sets soon. If you like you can grab lastest tweaks from tweak ini thread and copy them in to common folder in WDM in Driver folder and reinstalled them.

Yup they be on top first line either or zip or normal. Just make sure you override yes on the tweaks in common folder there near the kill ini. Let me know if those tweaks fix your issue bit I did lower the mids alot since last updated.

ya I know the pain man. Those cards last only so long. Maybe you can find cheap pci xfi music card on ebay or something better.

Re: crackles in speakers

Ok, on integrated soundcard Realtek HD 889 all works fine. Volume on 100% in windows setting and no crackles.

What can i do to use Audigy 2 ZS (SB0350) with Genius 5050V2 without any crackles/crackling in sound? Audigy is a lot better than this realtek on overall sound quality and functions (like EAX, full FMOD ex support etc.) but I can hear crackles in sound after I make volume higher than 70%!

(volume setting in windows, not speakers)

Please, Help me Robert!

(btw I'm really sorry for my English )

Re: crackles in speakers

I think I know why you need more power lol. You should least be 700watt for your graphics card You can try up your ram to 8gigs see if that solves your cracking issue.

Re: crackles in speakers

It could be 4gig issue of ram most audigy cards have that issue your best bet grab another 4 fix the issue
did you try with 2gig stick to see if does it?

Re: crackles in speakers

IMO most problems with cracks and shoots on Audigy Series are caused by hardware. Some guy started replacing capacitors on his Audigy 2 ZS and problem stopped after he changed 4 22µF ones, marked as C173, C181, C182 and C195. This also worked for my Audigy 2 Value, with only one bad capacitor.
