Hi It's very hard get the driver to work with Tags are in the INF did you try force installed? You need uninstalled from Deviced manager then reboot then run drive cleaner or sweaper. Then reboot again Then run the free tune up from Computer Repair | IObit | Computer Scan | Repair PC Slow Speed | Windows Care run that scan you be surprize how many errors are on your system and that would help make the sound work. If you have trouble please feel free PM me or added me to one my messeger I have. I know the sound would work with your card. As I stated there no Dolby and DTS for Dell OEM for now you need find the unlocker for that.

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

I have to concure with Regve.
This was the first time I tried YouP-PAX with my XtremeMusic @ Vista x64,
and I'm greatly impressed!

First of all, your drivers fixed the audiodg.exe problem, which earlier had a
memory leak when enabling CMSS-3D (more info here).

Second, before I installed YouP-PAX I used the official Beta drivers (2.18.0006).
At that time I had some wierd parasite-like, distorted and static sound problem in games,
and sometimes delay on the right channel on my 2.1 system. This happened only
when I chose over 24-bit sound with 48000 Hz (Studio Quality) in Vista sound options.
Now there is no issue with sound when playing games like Counter-Strike 1.6 or anything,
AND I can use 96000 Hz @ 24-bits without problem!

In addition, I feel that the sound has improved, and it's most likely NOT placebo :P
Nevertheless, I wonder if there is any way to confirm that I'm using YouP-PAX
drivers with my sound card
? Like an "About" window where I can see which
release I'm using and stuff

Another quick questions:
When I'm using the YouP-PAX drivers, is it normal to adjust the standard sound format
from 16-bits 44100 Hz (CD-quality) to 24-bits 96000 Hz/192000 Hz quality?
And the EAX Effects
and X-Fi Crystalizer in the Audio Control Panel, may I adjust them without "destroying" the sound? Right now
I've set the EAX to 3.0 dB and Crystalizer to 100% in Entertainment Mode, will this conflict with your driver
enhancements?

***
THANK YOU VERY MUCH Robert McClelland, for
making such good drivers for us people with official driver problems

when i installed pax 6.20 on a clean vista64 install the default is 24bit 48000Hz(studio quality) so you might not have isntalled properly.

im gonna try the new 6.25 today

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Alright still having problems. Same as previous versions. I even went and bought Driver Cleaner and followed the instructions exactly to install. The first boot with the install worked great. But now, the day after, it's back to the same problems.

If I start WoW before I start a music player, I cannot get music to play. This goes with any game apparently. If I start a game before a media player, I won't get sound from the media player. I also lose all the driver audio enhancements (like all the bass and stuff).

I also get this if I click the volume icon and right click Playback Devices:

ImageShack - Hosting :: xfidriverqd7.jpg

Did you try used tune up program like iobit freeware tune up? After running driver cleaner also make sure your error disable tools that might help

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

I don't know what IOBit Freeware Tuneup is (it's not listed as a product on their website). Selecting to disable the enhancements from the error makes it so I can't use EAX, CMSS, Crystalizer, or basically any of the reasons to have an X-Fi card.

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

One thing I wonder:
When the installation starts to install "Console Launcher Web Update", it doesn't work!
This is because I don't have "Windows Media Player" installed on the computer (thats
because I've vLite'd my Vista x64, so it doesn't include things I don't need, like the WMP).

Is this a very important part of your installation (Console Launcher Web Update),
or can I just use the normal "Audio Control Panel" with the same PAX benefits?

Is there anyway that you can make the installation to not ask for Windows Media Player?
But you don't need to do this if the Console Laucher isn't required.

EDIT:
What I sed in one of my earlier posts was wrong. The audiodg.exe is still
having a memory leak when "Sound Blaster Enhancements" is enabled in
Vista sound options. It won't empty itself, and right now audiodg.exe
uses 255 000 kB memory!!!

This is what I wrote earlier: (I've marked the faulty stuff with red and written "WRONG" after it.

(WRONG)

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

I have vista64, x-fi extreme gamer and windows media player works fine.

i dont even have The audiodg.exe anywhere.

when i go into sound options it says there is an "error with sound enhancements", but i do not turn it off, and i ahve not seen any issues. everything works great, no memory leaks or anything.

there is problem with dts and dd via s/pdif (coax), when I'm aplying built in decoder in audio control panel, there is only stereo sound, only if I change option to bitstream out I've 5.1 sound and on lcd from my speaker showing dts or dd digital. I've xfi extreme music card with logitech z5400. But there is almost no difference between dts and dd using logitech's decoder :/

tesed with:
xp sp3
pax 6.25
media player classic with ac3 filter(output format as is(no change), rate as is and use spdif checked)
powerdvd 8
