Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Has anyone tried using xfi audio notebook card with windows 7 pre-beta?
I would like to enable crystalizer and cmss-3d, but none of those functions are available (there is no sign of them in audio console or in console launcher). I've tried drivers from windows update, from creative techsupport and also Robert's PAX_XFXA_Vista_V2.50 (which works for me very nice in vista x64 - thx for those Robert) and the results were the same - only basic functionality, no crystalizer, no eax, no cmss.

Any idea how to force those functions to show or how to enable those using windows registry settings?

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

I'm considering getting an X-Fi Extreme Audio as I would like CMSS and surround support for Vista x64 without having to 'get lucky' with it like I currently do with my SB Live 24-bit External. Is that a wise choice? (If it makes any difference, I'd need to buy the PCI express version)

I'd sooner stick with Creative as I find their software suite familiar and easy to use and like their graphic equaliser controls. I've seen someone with a Xonar DX have bizarre issues with microphone, and I read that about the X-Fis too, is there a fix for them in this thread?

Long story short, I'm not prepared to pay more than £30 to get surround in Vista. Am I wasting my time?

Cheers
Sam

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Hi, im sure this is a noob question but im unable to solve a prob i've been having. Im on vista and have a SB X-fi Xtreme sound card and im using Pax X-Fi Xtreme Audio V2.0. After i installed it all 5 speakers worked fine for afew mins then it reverted back to two speakers only.
On control panel under the speakers option, all seems fine and the test function will play all 5 + sub no prob.
Im just unable to get sound from my surround sound for games or music. i have tried different programs like i-tunes, WMP and so on but all seem the same.
Am i missing somthing simple? Thanks for any help you can give.

Thats what I have with my external card in vista at the moment, surround sound is purely down to luck, rather than any particular settings.

Yes, I tried them too, but my Windows keep saying that there's no compatible hardware . I'm using Windows Vista 64 bits.

I think the fact is my hardware ID is not present in the INF/INI files?

Thanks a lot Robert!

Pissed AW: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

I'm using lastet version of PAX and I have an audigy 4 soud card. I setup 5.1 boxes in vista and CMS2 in creative audio console. I also use +12dB bass support. I have 3D sound, but where is the bass? I have no bass. It sounds like a metal bucket, terrible.
What can I do?

Yes, but i find another way. Using bass-tool from creatice CD and it works fine.

But theres another issue. Using CMSS 3D sounds like in a church. Using CMSS I have only sound in front boxes but in super sound quality. Is there a way to have sound in all boxes in good quality?

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Hello Robert and all good ppl here who works on making our lives with Creative cards better...

First question on this forum from new user!...

I must ask Admin,

why isn't X-Fi Xtreme Gamer FatalityPro revision 046-A supported with Dolby DTS encoder functionality???
I know it's creative's policy of buying their new products, so I decided to sail in "modded" waters!!!

I haven't had any opportunity to buy this awesome card unless I wold go to other state!
So i went there, It's in Croatia!
I say "awesome" cause hardware in it is respectable at least to say but drivers are messy and made unsupported on purpose?
First and most important thing why I bought it, was possibility to play my movies, games. mp3's, concerts etc... on emmbeded DDL/DTS decoder.
It was just about drivers, nothing else!
First thing I've done, tried official 2.15 drivers and there were no decoder encoder option in Creative Audio Console!?
Then found - "those unnofficial one from Daniel_K"- and tried with them too, and I've managed to get encoder option in Creative Audio Console, but on SPDIF IO card SPDIF Input Settings option is greyed out and disabled???
Sound is now digitally assigned by internal dolby and AC3 decoder to each speaker on 5.1 system by single SPDIF cable to my Yamaha!
That's what I tried to get, and I've got it!

I've heard about YoupPax drivers then, and decided to get them because of new functionallities made better with each new driver since it's know that Daniel_K's are older from march 2008 I think.
Plz be noted that my card is X-Fi Xtreme Gamer FatalityPro revision 046-A, for which I've got response from Creative that it's NOT SUPPORTED!?
Still I've managed to get DDL from Daniel's drivers.

Readme from PAX X-Fi OS v6.25 was enough from me to get me going to these... Since it's underlined that DTS/DDL is supported!
Also Robert here have made bass and treble better which is also cruciall to me.
Everything is installed now, but DDL/DTS encoder isn't there!?
Tried Vista X-Fi 5.25 drivers and same thing, no DDL.
So my next thing is to get this question here, if it IS possible to get dolby/DTS on my card with PAX drivers, what is needed?
Since this drivers are way much improved then Creative ones!!!
Sigh, hope that Dan_K drivers are not the only one's with this managed, and regarding it limited ONLY to his release!!!???

Sorry for this, one mile post of mine, but I was forced to get this to you Robert since you're the only one who mod these drivers the best, despite that you're way to bussy with your work also, RESPECT to that !
If You're answer is positive about DDL/DTS on this card it would be great , because as said above, card has great hardware but lacks good support!

Sincerely,
Triad ;-)

Thanks for coment ya I don't think the gamer card really support under DTS and DD for some reason. But right now my freind classic leon looking at my set making more creative cards enable for DTS and DD I haven't heard from him in two weeks yet. Ya right now I haven't been working Don't really have to work. I'm not really program person when comes to DTS and DD with Hex numbers and stuff. Thats why I have my freind for lol. Since he been busy he moving back to his home country soon. So that means longer on the drivers. Plus I'm getting host here from Craig soon that way people can download better off from my filefront site . Sorry for misslead on creative DTS and DD support I don't know which cards would work underneath my driver set .

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Hello Robert and hello all, just two questions, will this pack of drivers works with X-Fi OEM Cards? I recently bought an X-Fi XtremeGamer OEM card version but I don't have it yet and don't know if it cames from Dell, Alienware, or HP, just know model number: SB0770. In case it works OK, Will these drivers work with Dolby Digital Live pack with this OEM card? Thanks!!

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Ok, Thankz for the reply Robert but I've managed to get this DDL/DTS stuff done! I think that this procedure will work in most cards which are X-Fi, just not for Xtreme audio for what I've heard.
Procedure is as follows...

It requires Administrator privileges, so under Windows Vista, User Account Control (UAC) will prompt you with a security warning, choose Yes, or unload User Account Control in Control Panel if you are experienced user and know what you are installing on your computer.

1. Download SB X-Fi Series Installation Disc for Windows XP/Vista unofficial
SB X-Fi Series Installation Disc for Windows XP Vista Torrent - btjunkie
It's Daniel;s version. Mount or burn on CD and Install what you need, Creative Control Panel and drivers are must, the rest is optional.

2. Download Dolby Digital Unlocker that works only with these drivers above from hereRapidShare: Easy Filehosting
Restart in Safe mode (clicking f8 on reboot). Unpack and install DDL_Unlocker. Then Restart.

3. Download Dolby digital Live Pack from Megaupload
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
Install DD Live pack after step 2 and you should get decoder and encoder tabs in Creative Audio Control Panel.

This procedure worked for me and it assigned 5 channel sound to every speaker in 5/1 Yamaha SPDIF connected system and it's great.

Hope Robert it's ok to post this procedure here because I spent so much days trying to find right files and rar packs for this to work and seems like this is the one!
Just to add furthermore to your database here.
Hope this helps.

Thankz ;-)

Ok, I'll download your X-Fi cd and try if it works for DDL unlocker!?
But there is a problem with drivers, in which any other driver instead of Daniel_K's
doesn't work with DDL Unlocker crack!
Just wonder if your X-Fi cd is based on Daniel's drivers or some newer!?
It seams that there's only on DDL unlocker which works with his drivers, but if I change just drivers the same time I loose encoder tab.

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

I have an X-FI Xtreme Gamer that I've purchased from Dell (SB0770) and there are two things that I want and I can't figure out how to do.

First, I can't seem to enable the on board decoders of the card, when I connect a DD signal to the Optical IN it says it's an unknown signal .

And the other issue is that I don't have MIC Boost.

I've tried all drivers (OEM CD, Pax, daniel_k) and all tricks to enable the decoder, always cleaning all settings before installing them with DriverCleaner and so and nothing have worked.

Is there something you can implement in your pack or it happens due to hardware limitations from my card?

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Hello! I have an PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series (SB0886) and Windows Vista Ult x64. Will this driver get me working Dolby Digital-In decoding? If so, which file(s) do I need?
Sorry for such a lame question... I'm on dial up so going though 40 pages will be painful.

Thanks.
