In fact, I just built my computer so these are clean XP or Vista installs on a new hard drive. I reformatted and reinstalled operating systems few times to try to get this to work. I am out of my witt's end. Thank you for your continued effort.

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Hey Skim

I have the X-fi Titanium with Vista x64. I bought this card specifically for my ps3 today and find out all this crazyiness if you figure something out let me know and I will do likewise

Right now when i'm in XMB there is sound but when I get into a game I get nothing

I've tried with both DD 5.1 checked and DTS checked in the PS3

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Hi ippikiokami,

Do you have the Fatal1ty version or regular? The difference is Fatal1ty has the eclosed "shield" and vRam. I have the Fatal1ty and I was considering changing to the regualr version if that allows DD 5.1 decoding. I am assuming yours is PCIe.
By the way, PS3 XMB is in regular digital stereo. That is why you get the sound. If you turn off DD and DTS, I am sure you'll get sound from games too. Same thing with XBOX 360. If I downgrade sound out to digital stereo, then all works fine. But, the problem is, it is not in 5.1 surround.
There has to be solution to this somewhere.....

I couldn't get your drivers to work with my card (SB0460):

"Setup is unable to detect a support product on your system"

I tried other drivers too with similar results, here's the post with more info:

Do you have another computer to try? If not go local computer shop to see if the card might be dead.

Just reformatted with XP SP3, same issue.

Maybe you can shed some light on this part: the device & hardware id seem to be a little messed up, which makes me think that the card is indeed dead.

Device Instance Id:

PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_FFFFFFFF&REV_00\4&20E 0FF6A&0&08F0

Device Ids:

PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_FFFFFFFF&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_FFFFFFFF
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&CC_040100
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0005&CC_0401

Is it normal to have a SUBSYS_FFFFFFFF? In the BIOS I get the same info, all 1's.

Try without using a slipped XP Disc. Install XP without any SP and see if it works. I've had some similar issues with my Audigy 2 ZS on XP Sp3 it would install broken .

P.S. Anyone interested in having EAX+Crystaliser+EQUALISER on their Audigy ZS? Let me know. I finally found a way to put this on Vista 32.

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

The Pci-E titanium cant accpt a dolby digital signal through optical input so far.. it is a driver issue however so modded drivers may be able to fix this. I did notice that a major difference between the titanium drivers and the other x-fis is the presence in the inf file of ctdvda2k.sys. at the bottom of the inf it decribes this as ...... i have read other atricles where upating this file can alter the decoder status. now the problem is that the titanium driver does not install this file or set it up in regestry so even if you put it in the correct folder, as far as windows is concerned it doesn't mean anything. I myself have tried to alter the titaniums inf file to add in this ctdvda2k.sys in the approperate places in an attmpt to allow windows to "see" it to no avail. any dolby signal sent to the card will be unrecognised becaus windows doesnt know there is a decoder on the card. i hope this info might help you rob in finding some sollution.. i hope cause i really wanna use my x360 in all of its 5.1 glory
Brad
oh and for this issue.... pci/pci-e is the same

The thing is the BIOS sees the same, so I fear changing the OS won't change much if at the BIOS level it's already FFFFFFFF.

AW: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Hi,

i've a problem installing the YouPax 6.45 drivers for XP ...

I installed a new and fresh version of Windows XP Pro + SP3 ... further i downloaded the right driver package for my sys.

All things were installed correctly beside the THX Console ... i got an i-001 error, so the installation can't be finished in a normal way.

What could be wrong?

It's an normal Audigy 2 ZS ...

Cu

Tom

@Robert: Are you the guy who did some nhl rosters in the past?

Yup from 2000-2007 I'd move on to my drivers after 2005. I didn't had time do hockey rosters anymore. Plus I had dialup back then lol. Now I'm 2meg highspeed net Wireless. I love it so far.
Don't worry about THX it won't installed with creative installer I'm going have take them out in new release.

AW: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Thanks for your answer, Robert ... i thought, that i made a mistake during the installation ... it's good to hear, that this one isn't my fault. Beside of this little problem, the drivers are real good ...

Your NHL Rosters ... you did a great job and i remember, that i've used them in some of my NHL Games ... sometimes i play the older ones like NHL 2004 and NHL 2006 ... well, i bought the series since 1997, but the two i mentioned are still the best (my opinion). NHL 2008 & 2009 are a bit confusing and not well done ...

Anyway ... thanks again and keep up your good work (YouPax).

And sorry for my crappy english ...

Tom

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Rob BTW the X-Fi titanium windows 7 driver you wrote (pax 1.07) work perfactly under windows 7 x64. You can add that to the list of supported OS's.
Great Stuff
