Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

I searched this site for "pax pci xfi 6.60 " and then googled it; where is it exactly? heh..

Also, just curious; just recently my sound system has started to jump when the volume is high (like if an explosion occurs in a movie, the sound dissapears for halv a second and then comes back). Is this because the system isnt getting enough electricity or something? Anyone familiar with this problem? Never experienced this before with my system. I have that crappy gigaworks 750 thing. I was able to play thrice as loud before without problems

Great stuff man, thanks. Even though it didn't do anything about my original problem. I'll have to try harder I guess haha.

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Hello,

Can someone help.

Brief description. Creative Extreme Music XP Home SP3

SPDIF input only shows Default greyed out. Prior to having to reinstall windows I was able ti use Bypass and DD/DTS-SPDIF_In Decode. I use it to pass DTS CD's to my system and it worked beautifully. Same with Toslink or Coax. With Default i can listen to Stereo CDs or DTS>PCM

This is the same with last 3 Creative drivers as well as Pax 6.6.0.

Is there a way to turn this on using a cfg change.

BTW DTS > PCM comes in as Stero digital on Digital In thru Default.

Regards Mark

You are talking about the silverish notebook X-Fi, right? Because I have the black one (the latest one that doesn't have optical out but has wireless audio streaming) and the USB 1.00 PAX driver works fine with it. Maybe that driver works for that card too..

Robert,

I don't have the bay installed. It seems that I need to fake out the bay now. I had a problem with the bay. Had to take it out , reinstalled it with the power lead reversed. You know that burning silicone smell. Took it out and 2 IC's fried just above the ad_ex cable connection. LOL do you know anything about repairing PCBs.

Maybe there are any news about the Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card from MSI?
Or will the newest driver work for this device too?

Thank you very much!

Robert, I have a cable and its fine. The bay is fried. Plugging in the cable doesn't help. Card is Creative Xfi Xtreme Music. It's good as well. I also tried the pin 25 35 thing also no help.

Re: Vista and XP Driver Support for Audigy, Xtreme Audio, and Xfi cards

Robert,

I thought that there would be someway to enable the SPDIF in as I am using a Digital I/O module from creative instead. It has SPDIF In and SPDIF out both Coax and Toslink for each. The default allows digital in from DVD player for CDs and HDCDs but not for DTS CDs. Is there a way in the driver to do that? When I was using the bay the other options were there. DTS/DD in and Bypass. I never used bypass. When I used DD/ DTS in it worked for all input from the DVD player. I have one that decodes HDCDs as well.

Regards Mark

Robert,

I have that program and it is only used for the SPDIF out from the sound card to the surround sound receiver. What I am talking about is the input. Dolby Digital Live.

SPDIF Input settings on Audio Contro Panel. Mine only shows Default greyed out. When I was using the bay all 3 choices were available.
1. Default
2. Bypass
3. Dolby Digital/DTS-SPDIF_IN decode <--- this is the one I need

Hmm wierd it should be enable on my xfi card it works. You have another PC to find out? I know on my Music card on my mom it's grey out for that I think you do need the bay to make Dolby Digital/DTS-SPDIF_IN decode decode show up.
