SB Live! 24bit on Windows 7 RC

I am trying to find a driver that works for the Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit (SB0410) on Windows 7 RC (build 7100). I have tried probably over 15 different drivers, from Creative, Windows Update, and from here and none of them seem to work. All that I get is a "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" in the hardware properties box. I can't get my older on-board sound to work either and would greatly appreciate it.

You tried this one? http://www.hardwareheaven.com/youp-pax...7-v1-00-a.html

Hmmm I know my driver installations on win7 have been a little picky unless I make sure there's no leftovers from other installations.

Sometime worst case you can disable your sound card in Device Manager and updated that way.

Re: SB Live! 24bit on Windows 7 RC

I removed all of the other driver's stuff and disabled it in device manager. After installing the PAX PCI SB24 Audigy OS Win 7 V1.00 driver, it still has the same issue.
Any more suggestions?

You have your Device ID by chance? It might be missing from the set. So me which set it does work with.

Re: SB Live! 24bit on Windows 7 RC

I don't see the device id anywhere. If it is the same as the "Matching Device ID", it is "pci\ven_1102&dev_0007&subsys_10061102".

Yes. That was the first thing that I tried. They don't seem to work either.

Re: SB Live! 24bit on Windows 7 RC

Hopefully Robert can get you fixed up. Sadly I don't have an Audigy or Live24 to test against. I do have an old SB Live that I could try, but it was the 16bit PCI version. I also have a PCI SB X-Fi XtremeMusic (so I still had the MIDI port) in my current Windows 7 RC x64 development box. If Robert can't get you sorted out with a good driver, you might try posting over to the official Windows 7 RC Support Forum located here Windows 7 Category . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. They usually respond pretty quickly.
