Re: PAX PCI Audigy Windows 7 Alpha V1.05

First of all thanks for another fine driver release.
I do not have any major issues with these drivers under Windows 7 RC x64 but I noticed a few inconvinient things. These are rather bugs made by Creative but maybe you could work on them and fix them.

What I find extremly inconvinient is that when you change your speaker configuration(let's say from headphones to 5.1 speakers) the default sound levels for various outputs are set randomly and extremly loud (see the picture).
I think they all should be set to 50 (range from 0 to 100) and the master sound control (Play Control) should be set even lower to 20 or 30 maybe.

The second issue I encounter is the lack of Headphones and 6.1 speaker profiles in Speaker Configuration in Windows. I've got SB Audigy 2 ZS and in Windows XP I can change speaker configuration either from Windows' Speaker Configuration or Creative Audio console. In Windows 7 my only option is to use Creative Audio console.

One more thing, the updated installer 1.05 of your drivers set says it's 1.00.

Once again, thanks for your great work.

Re: PAX PCI Audigy Windows 7 Alpha V1.05

Hello Robert,

Thank you for the driver, for me it's working great.
But would you please make a modded driver to use X-Fi functions on Audigy 2?

When Installing it, it shows up as version 1.00, is it the same as version 1.00?

Re: PAX PCI Audigy Windows 7 Alpha V1.05

Hi,

first of all I have to say thanks for the great work you have done.

I have a few issues with the drivers (not only this ones). The first I have since I have a creative card. I had it on WinXP with the original drivers and a Audigy 2 and a Audigy 2 ZS and now again. I think it is a very know issue and there is no real solution:
Code:
"EAX Console
The Audio Device Supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit."
I had it many times and it stays till I "format C:\". Every kind of reinstalling... doesn't help. Maybe you could try and find a solution to this because I think I am not the only one having this problem. And it sucks.

This error pops up when I try to open the EAX Console. The Equalizer shows the same error. The rest works fine. I can Control the EAX settings with the Creative Audio Console.

And there is the next problem:
The slider below the CMSS3D options doesn't have any effect. I have 5.1 and if I drag it in XP there is clearly a difference. In Win7 nothing. I hope this isn't another problem on my side.

I hope you will find time to look into this and thanks again.

Re: PAX PCI Audigy Windows 7 Alpha V1.05

The ID:
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0004&SUBSYS_20021102&REV_04
PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_0004&CC_040100

I think the "The Audio Device Supported by this application is not detected..." error is not your fault. Like I said, I had it with the original drivers, too. But I thought you might be able to fix this.
Maybe the installation is the problem and it doesn't install properly.
After reinstalling windows and the drivers they(the original ones from creative, but I don't think it makes a difference) did work a few times.
Just reinstalling doesn't help. I tried it with DriverCleaner.... everytime the same. It is a very strange error.
I don't think it needs "support" because it obviously worked in the past, and it didn't.

If you ment I should disable the card and then install the drivers, it didn't work. Like I said, any kind of reinstalling doesn't help.
Maybe it is some bug in the software because like I said everything else works fine.

Re: PAX PCI Audigy Windows 7 Alpha V1.05

Thanks, I might do that. I just thought as I am not the only one having this problem you might be able to find a solution rather than a workaround.

Thanks again.
