I don't get the drivers to work

Hallo guys,
I have a problem with the drivers. So I'm telling the whole story:

I bought a desktop PC system saying the Audio Card is an Creative Soundblaster X-Fi. Actually I do not know which of the many X-Fi cards it is. I tried installing different drivers and ended up installing the newest drivers from the creative website for X-Fi Extreme Audio which worked ( I have sound).

So is it the right conclusion that my card must be an Extreme Audio?

Anyway i can hear sound and that's ok but I don't get the microphone to work ( no microphone boost) what makes the card worthless for me. I have no Mixer or something like that in that drivers, just drivers and a poor Audio-console.

So after searching a bit in the web I found this site and it looked like it could solve the problem. I saw the Software Suite and downloaded it (which one is right? I downloaded http://www.hardwareheaven.com/youp-pax...on-2009-a.html ) but when starting the surround mixer (I can install it) I get an error about Devcon32.dll.

Now my question to you:

Can anyone give me a step-by-step guide for installing drivers and software (starting at zero) to get my sound and microphone work?
It is really depressing to have a new computer without your sound working the right way, so I am very grateful for your help.

Hi there you need Extreme Audio drivers I haven't updated the tweaks for the set in long time I try get done tomorrow I hate to stay audio is kinda crap card like in my sig. Did you try your other pc slots? Make sure you onboard audio is disable too that would help the sound card out too.

Onboard sound is disabled in BIOS but I didn't try out to use another PC slot. Could this help? I thought it to be a driver issue since I do not even have any Control Panel or something to turn the microphone booster on.

Sorry for not responding the last days but I didn't find time to try it. Now I#ve tried another PCI slot but it didn't work. And I don't have another PC for testing it there.

Is there any other possibility?

If creative official drivers don't installed then you have dead sound card. Is under warrety?

There may be a misunderstanding. I can install the drivers and they do work (sound is perfect) but I can't boost the microphone and that is my problem.

I did outside work today I don't when I will get chance work on XFI xtreme audio drivers yet.

your mic be in audio mixer right? Can you take pics? I don't have xtreme audio card I only tweak the settings for it.
