Hi, I have a discussion with the man, he says that in that SPDIF Input Settings, there're 3 options
Code:
1) Default 2) SPDIF Bypass 3) Dolby Digital/DTS SPDIF In Decode he says that, with the option 1) Default: that mean when you play DVD with DD/DTS sound, the media player (like PowerDVD or AC3filter) will decode them and then extract to the speaker, the sound card does no decoding here 2) SPDIF Bypass: the media player and the sound card both don't decode DD/DTS, by-pass all, that means you need the external receiver to decode 3) Dolby Digital/DTS SPDIF In Decode: the media player by-pass, push all DD/DTS sound to the sound card, and here the sound card will decode them I think he misunderstands here, because of the word "Input" he think that "Input" here means the data from the media player go to the sound card but with me, I think "Input" is from the device outside, connect to the sound card through the hole Digital I/O of the card so who's right who's wrong? sorry for my bad English :P |

Yes The Optical Input where it comes threw is from I/O Bay drive you can't get that on your normal card. You need Drive bay to run number 3 Dolby Digital/DTS SPDIF In Decode Only way get that fully working You need I/O Bay drive or sound card has Optical in and out on it. I think. You try the audigy drivers? and what OS you running?
