Can't install drivers for X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty

I'm trying to install drivers for this card, after having removed my old Audigy 2 ZS. Once the card was installed, I proceeded to remove all the old drivers (for the Audigy) through Add/Remove programs.

While trying to install the newer ones - even these - I'm hit with an error stating something like "a newer version of Audio Drivers has been found". I've tried to remove every peice of old creative software through driver cleaning programs, device manager (even in admin mode with hidden items selected), registry edits, etc.

This happens with both the official creative drivers and these ones.

Any ideas?

Edit: The card does work (I can hear sound/music through it). I just want to install the drivers to get the added effects (mainly to increase the Bass/Treble tone values).

Re: Can't install drivers for X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty

Yeah tried that. I even when so far as to manually check that all driver-related files were gone (from this guide: How To Fully Uninstall Creative Vista Drivers & Solve Install Problems No More Goat Soup). Rebooted multiple times, still both driver setups don't work.

Edit: Right now the card is running of off Microsofts drivers that it automatically installs for new hardware. The volume icon on the bottom states it is a "High definition audio device". Maybe I need to disable Microsofts drivers? Could that be the reason the setup is referring to "Newer drivers already being installed"? I'll look into this more.

Got idea for you Try disable your sound card I know it sound nutty but it might work. Then run from main setup in WDM folder instead of exe one . Let me know if that works for you.

Yeah, that worked! I just disabled it and installed it through the drivers folder setup, instead of the setup in root. Thanks very much, made my day!
