So, I can use official Creative Beta drivers but, installing Fall Software Suite I have the same problem as with all OS 1.20 driver.
Only Main-Volume, Wave and CD-Audio in Surroundmixer, but no Bass and Treble because they are greyed-out. |

Hi Rob
Installed the x-fi music winter pack.. Then restarted. Now this popped up on the screen. The current selected audio device is not supported by the application. Do you want to select another device now? I tried removing the drivers, and software, using setup.exe (uninstall) the used driver sweeper to remove remains.. then tried installing these winter drivers again. Im using windows 7. The fall edition, worked fine, but dont have the 1.35 drivers built in, do they? Thanks. |

V1.35 is same as the suite drivers.

I've tried removing everything from within add/remove programs.. Rebooted in safe mode, ran Driver sweeper.. Rebooted. Installed the summer pack, which was working before i updated to the winter pack, and to find out ive still got the same problem!
Ive only recently installed a radeon 4890 graphics card, which comes with onboard hdmi, it was listed within device manager. ive disabled it, made sure that x-fi is chosen as default within windows 7 sound properties. What do i do? |

If i click on Audio console, within the volume app, i get this msg.. The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit.

HI Robert,
I did download another DVD. I did a clean uninstall of Software and drivers, driver sweeper and so o. Then I installed from that dvd the software and after that I installed the all-OS 1.20 drivers. I still have the same issue with the mixer, no bass and treble. I think it must be a Win7 HAL problem because of the changes Microsoft made to audio kernel.

Ever since ive installed 1.35 ive had nothing but problems.. ive tried the 1.30's . the summer set.. nothings working with the software suite any more.. not even the audio console will load.. its as if my soundcard isnt being recognised.. im going to try creatives own drivers..

For get tom hardware cd it from another moder don't talk about any more thanks. So u stayings new betas aren't stable go back to old 1.20 audigy set and release it? DJ I'll talk to u this after noon I'd got few more MAG beta testing days left. I'd be online after 4pm

Well I am using the winter pack plus the driver 1.25 on a fresh install of windows 7 but it is still not working.

I'm sorry evrycard I don't know what else do for you mate. If you get that on creative official drivers it's at there then. Do you have another slot to try the card on or another pc? Maybe your sound card is dieing time get new XFI one off ebay or something.

Audigy 1.25 don't work on win7 x64. Drivers are installed but device manager identify sound card as device without driver. Maybe it's only with my card, so I'll give you ID.

If my soundcard is working fine in windows 7 is there any need/reason to install Pax XFI All OS Driver V1.35 and Pax X-Fi All OS Software Suite Winter 2009 instead of the PAX PCI XFI All-OS-Driver V1.30A and Pax X-Fi All OS Software Suite Fall 2009 that I use now?

Fixed the problem!! Robert (PAX DESIGNER) spent hours on my computer trying to work out why the audio console wasn't recognising my sound card.
I had installed a new Radeon 4890 graphics card, which comes with HDMI out.. This new audio driver appeared within the Device manager console. And even though I tried to disable it, it wouldnt go.. Why did I try to disabled it? Because the Creative console never recognised my x-fi music card. Logic suggested that the creative audio console was failing to see my card, and recognising the hdmi audio driver.. Even though the creative drivers were set to be used by default. What made things more complicated is that at the same time I installed this new graphics card, (with its sound output) I installed the pax 1.35 drivers.. And I hit an hell of alot of issues.. So I tried removing the 1.35 drivers, and ran registry cleaners etc to no avail.. Theres two things I didnt try.. Take out the x-fi card, and enable the onboard sound card on my motherboard.. Read on.. Upon starting up the pc after installing the 1.35 drivers and my new graphics card this message appeared apon booting into Windows and running the Creative audio console. "The current selected audio device is not supported by the application. Do you want to select another device now?" So the sound was working.. Surround was working.. Everything bar the console.. But heck my sound card was stuck in Entertainment mode.. My latencies were all over the place within my music programs.. So I needed audio creation mode.. Robert tried to help me out by remotely connecting to my pc and trying to figure out what was stopping the console from working. He swore that running driver cleaning programs in safe mode was unessesary. So we went through the same - remove drivers, run driver sweeper after removing (without safe mode) and trying different cab files within the drivers.. Nothing worked.. If you've somehow come across this same issue, then start by doing this.. Remove your card from the system. Leave it out, clean the head of the pci card with a rubber in case any ironization has occured. Secondly, with the card still out. Run the machine, and load windows as normal. Dev manager wont display your card, as its not in the system. No creative file will load.. So following this, run the drivers/setup.exe file, from Robs pax drivers.. click uninstall everything.. boxes etc.. click restart later.. Next, remove any software installed, if youve installed the software suite.. In the pax rar file, theres a bunch of folders, amongst them folders is Setup.. Inside that Setup folder is a setup.exe file.. Run it.. Audio/Setup/setup.exe .. Remove manually.. tick every box, except the driver box. Reason why you do not select the driver box, is because you've just removed the drivers using Audio/Drivers/setup.exe.. Even though you removed it, it will still show in the uninstall prodecure. Ignore it. Ok.. once youve done this, click restart. Boot into safe mode upon restart (f8 on boot) .. In safe mode, assuming youve downloaded driver cleaner and have driver sweeper installed.. run them both.. tick all the creative boxes (except any webcams you may have installed).. click restart later.. Now head over to c:\program files\ and erase the CREATIVE folder. Run CCLEANER (get from ccleaner.com), and run the registry repairer).. At this time, there should be nothing on your system left by creative which will cause issues with the new drivers you're about to install. Turn off the computer. Put the sound card back in. And boot into windows as usual. Windows might try to install its own drivers.. Not to worry, try cancelling it.. or follow the procedure that stops drivers from installing on your system at boot (google it).. Now run the driver cleaner program once more, inside windows.. just to make sure nothings left.. If its all clean, and doesnt require another reboot, hit the Pax suite, or Pax drivers, and install away.. I recommend that you only install the drivers and audio console at first, and not hit all the checkboxes.. Restart the pc after installing the drivers and audio console.. Hopefully the audio console will now work. If it does, like it did for me, go ahead and run that Pax Setup.exe file again and continue to install the remaining software which you require.. This should work, for those who want to upgrade their drivers and run into issues.. Robert tried everything and even resorted to saying, BIN THE CARD .. lol @ Robert.. But I appreciate everything he did. The reason why earlier I said enable the onboard sound drivers is because I read up that my Radeon card, along with its HDMI out drivers may be trying make themselves the default drivers, even though I selected otherwise. By enabling Onboard it brings another driver into the equation, and may knock the hdmi drivers from stealing the top spot.. And thus stopping the x-fi audio console from reading the ati hdmi drivers as being the ONLY card in the system.. I can't really deduct from what I did that fixed the issue I had, but with all methods tried, it brought my audio console back to life. And now I can get on with producing again. Thanks to the Audio creation mode. |
