Am I out of luck?

I've tried the drivers " Realtek/Soundmax Modds + SB X-fi MB 1.2 but none of them work for the onboard sound for my Asus Maximus III Gene which is XFI certified. It comes with XFI software and Via Sound codecs.

Am I out of luck and nobody can modify the latest XFI drivers to work with my motherboard?

I've tried installing the XFI MB2 on a clean windows install and I can use the SB sound panel , but I can only use 2.1 sound. When I select my Via chipset I can set 5.1 but the SB panel doesnt work. So I unstalled the XFI software using YourUninstaller Super Mode which deletes all the XFI reg keys and I used Driver Sweeper to clean the creative driver. Then I searched for the rest of the creative files and deleted them. I then tried other drivers and when a driver didnt work I done a thorough clean and installed another , but every one of them , but the driver that comes with my motherboard works. They all give me an error that no supported hardware was detected.

Dont worry about it. Im after doing a completely new windows install , but even the driver that came with my motherboard wont work now.

Ok I know this is an old thread , but has anybody tweaked the drivers or software for my motherboard? I got Logitech Z906 speakers two weeks ago and tried using the optical out on my motherboard but it is only 2.0 output> I cant set i to 5.1 output. Also the sound needs to be tweaked because the bass do'nt sount right. I am getting an Asus Xonar D2 PCI in a few weeks (There is no space on my micro ATX motherboard for a PCI express card) so I will download the tweaked drivers for that when I get it.

I am sorry for resurecting this old thread but I am desperate at this stage.

I take it nobody is even paying attention to this thread? I am getting the ASUS Xonar next week anyway. I just thought somebody might be able to help.

you might be I don't know onboard audio that not my area only area I focus is Auzen and creative sets. I never did a Asus Xonar tweaks or real tweaks yet. I'm waiting get my new 8 gig of ram resolve soon as I can.

The software this motherboard uses is Creative X-Fi software which is why I came here.

Ya I don't know where he is he one who did the updated software for on board audio

No worries. I will have the Asus Xonar soundcard in a few days anyway. It should hopefully be better than what I have now.
