And.....after having claimed for months that going for Saddam will be a relatively fast operation Bush now says It will take time........................................

So....why did he then say it was gonna be fast?

I heard

My brother, and army officer serving in an undisclosed area of the middle east said that Saddam is getting much smarter, he has employed the use of dummy equipment and numerous doubles to hide his whereabouts, also I believe that after the first opportunity failed and reaction from arab nieghbors rose to a boil, he began to see how we might potentially become mired in a protracted struggle, kilometer by kilometer in the Bagdhad perimeter...we either bring all our forces to bear now decisively or begin carving up the map piece by piece....compare the size of vietnam and iraq and compare tactics and available assets and it might look easy right, nope...weather conditions, limited terrain for cover and the willingness of the military leaders in IRAQ to use civilians to mask troop strongholds and it gets so hairy...if the U.S. starts killing lots of IRAQ civilians, (the true victems here) then world support might just become so eroded that we have to be more creative, and I am fresh out of ideas..

Yeah but this has been said by the opponents and those that doubted that the number of civilians killed would be low all the time....The answer was....No not many civilians...because this will be fast.

Well now they say it wont...and indirectly that means they are saying the civilian losses WILL be high.....

Funny...they said it so many times....i almost believed them.....

Hope still they are wrong and that it will be fast.

Saddam......Personally i believe he will vanish in vapour....just like the dude in beard and white clothes...That looks like a medieval shepard...

Wanna know something

That has already been considered as a possibility, some folks (CIA) are paying lots of DINARS for unsympathetic tribesmen to keep their eyes open...

Well it could be very fast indeed..but they are trying to spare as much of the Iraqi civilians as they can..so it takes time.

Bluelight, it's called "hedging your bets." Everyone hopes this will be a short conflict, and our President certainly does too. But you have to say things like "it might take time" because -- well, it might take time. People must be prepared for that. Plus, while the fighting may be short, it will take some time to restore and rebuild Iraq. People ought not forget that.
