Here in Cleveland, Ohio gas prices seem to vary depending on what station you go to. Shell is $1.29. Marathon is $1.47. BP is $1.39. This is for the 87 octane grade.

Which station do ya think I go to?

Damn, nice prices, folks. It's well into the $2.00 range in CA and pretty close to that here in AZ.

I don't know that this really belongs in the PD section, though --

Yeh....I detected some

little references to the decline in gas prices due to a decline in prewar demand...but anyone with an SUV that just drives it to work and back is grateful...

Last time I put gas in my car it was $1.97/ gal. - For 93 octane. That was last week though, maybe the prices went down since then.

Prices aren't going down due to war. Prices are dropping because drop in demand. The winter we experienced here in the US was unusually cold.

So the automotive industry at large

should continue to build inefficient and costly SUV's people might as well buy a corvette, because the sure as hell aren't going four wheeling and they aren't carpooling. I can see a new generation of roll over prone vehicles on the road burning off that precious cheap fuel.....

I just hope that a) we can build a better relationship with Russia and rely on them a little for oil and b) wean ourselves from oil altogether soon.

The IRAQI's had a limited number of them already..we didn't want a whole republican guard unit equipped.

exclamation News and Crap

I have to agree, that alot of what is out there that remotely resembles news, is in fact driven by advertising, how long can anyone stay fixed on the horizen and look through Night Vision Goggles at IRAQI's running for their lives from accurate and intense coalition fire...I am sure one day we will see all this wonderful footage when it is cleared for consumption, but until then.....Just media icons with verbal diarrhea providing all of us with tiny amounts of slightly relevant information. That is why I read the libertarian, and socialist and pro arab news, because you get a completely different perspective, and it actually contains factual information and reveals the "other" side of the story. American press is full of sensationalism and "crap". It really turns me off. The "wall street" info is good as well as FOX news, but I get glassy eyed when I see how quickly they wear a story down into nothing but.....well a worn down story....
I would like to add though...I am a republican, a Bush supporter, and a combat veteran, so I like to see the other side of the question...While we pat Bush on the back for supposedly getting the oil prices down, people are dying in the Congo everyday in a more terrible tragedy in my opinion...
And what of you men and women, growing up now with the war on a cathode ray tube display or over the digitized world wide web, they don't have a clue what the heck is going on unless they are willing to get involved..
I thought Bill Clinton was a real time waster, and a crook, (creative liscense), but he did one thing while he was chasing tail in the whitehouse or wherever his scrotum took him...He actually wanted young poeple to get involved in politics...vote....and accept the consequence for their actions....
I was disturbed how many of our young men and women that are going to war didn't vote in the last election...would they vote now?
And what of the asshole that rolled a grenade into a tent full of his fellow service men...I know he wanted to die for his convictions, so let him have that wish...make him pay in full for the terrible crimes he commited.....
On a lighter note....
Do you think the slowly lowered gas prices that we are now enjoying all over the U.S. is a plot by the Bush administration to create a sense of economic euphoria? I am going to tell you something that you might already know...The oil companies could charge as little as 89 cents a gallon and still make a profit...I bet you are in disbelief...right?....give it some real thought....because some people, even republicans believe that it is happening right now in direct response to the post war economic rebuilding program by Bush's white house to polarize american thinking and opinion and get him relected next term....
Would I vote for him............................................... ...HELL YES..

Buffalo N.Y.

sucks to be in Buffalo sometimes, is it still the butt of jokes about miserable weather in the U.S. or is that International Falls? It's pretty darn cold in the mornings in IRAQ!

Do you mean Niagra Falls? And yes, it is the butt of weather jokes-- Last winter we had a snow storm and got 8 feet of snow in 2 days-- I'm not stretching the truth either-- 8 feet I couldn't fing my car--
