Re: OBAMA wins
he isn't president yet, so he can't do anything about the economy yet. and even still, it'll probably take some time before anything happens...

Re: OBAMA wins
For anyone interested in the direction that Obama is going with his politics, you might turn your interest to David Reich and Rahm Emmuael and of course who else but David Bonior. We are all in for some real trouble, and the American Taxpayers will lose again.

Re: OBAMA wins
Yup, first it was only a tax hike on people who made over 250 grand, then 200, then 150, then 120.... etc..
If you go by his record he will raise taxes on people making only 22k a year. I am sure he will have a VERY good reason for doing it though.

Re: OBAMA wins
perhaps that 1 Trillion we need to pay off now is a good enough reason?

Higher taxes and more government control over our money and decisions is not going to help anyone.

Re: OBAMA wins
And any amount, a million or a billion or a trillion is meaningless. The extend of the national debt will never be known because we have so much investment by other countries and forgiven loans are even tallied into the whole formula, etc.
England is one of the few countries that ever paid off its loans after WWII. Policies that go back much further than Bush, or Clinton have affected our ability to remain solvent in the world market. As long as we produce we will overcome. As long as we are dependent we shall be under the yoke of the world market. But America cannot exist in a bubble and we are not xenophobes. America, like Ancient Rome will have a steady influx of peoples that will re-ignite our economic engines and we shall have to adjust to the wax and wane of fortune. We have more wars to fight, both economic and the battlefield of reform before America will change a great deal. I dont know what you all expect from our new president but I imagine he will have little to thank his Republican or Democratic colleagues before him. America change direction? Almost anything seems to better than socialism and I hope and pray that Capitalism and free market solutions will be the method and Mana of our change in direction. Its not about us anymore. Its about our children and their future. If Obama can stay focused on the future and less on everyone getting their piece of the pie and chicken in every pot we might well see some positive economic change. Some of the old Clinton adminstration weenies are banging on his door wanting their old jobs back so STFB. Obama is in for a wild ride. But then the Senator of Illinois didnt get the job of president of the United States because he is naive enough to believe that everyone is acting on behalf of the American People so the process of change the informed voters were screaming for will take a great deal longer than they might be patient enough to endure. The Road to Hell is paved with good intentions. And last I checked with my brethren, these might be the last days, but Obama is far from the image of the Anti-Christ that is being painted now.

it is because of this that the government stepped in with the 1 Trillion Dollars. It was to save the banks from going under because they issued these loans to all these people who couldn't afford them. so, take your pick what you feel is the the lesser of two evils. |

how bout learn to not pick the lesser of 2 evils...... and pick the good .....
why must people insist on already choosing lesser of 2 evils... the choice is there, most people tend to rather ignore it because it'll cause more work in the end.

The 1 Trillion Dollars that put us further in debt and only slowed what has been and will still happen. I think America needs to fall on its face completely before it can get back up. Having more and lasting government control will just make the American people slowly bleed all their money and freedom away. Freedom is what makes this country AMERICA. The Freedom to totally F up your life and your business is part of it. With the way things are going we will slowly be turning into Europe. If you want communism and everything equal go live in Russia and China. Or better yet, maybe socialism is your answer? + Our government is no where near strong enough to bail out our economy. It is just going to collapse along with it. |

Re: OBAMA wins
The Banks and financial lending institutions need to fall on their collectrive asses and faces, and bailing them out was at the very best, just a bandaid over a big huge financial carbunkle on Americas ass.
Obama will no doubt let the banks and the government have their conjugal visit and be spent and remorseful later on. The bailout for the un-informed is actually part of the great Kleptocracy of American business. Its about taking the risk out of "calculated risk" with credit and investment, which smacks of socialism. And if there was ever anything that just reeks with socialism is the f*cking bailout of the banks by yours truly, Presidient Bush. In spite of his intentions, I wonder if he was setting up the Democrats for a fall, and I am not a f*cking Democrat by any stretch of the imagination. But I can smell a rat. To keep the Banksters (vs Gangsters) solvent, something in the short term had to be done with the banks and keep the economy on an even keel, even during the election months. If any of you posters actrually read the newss, you will see that the bank bailout did temporarily create some breathing space for the anyone that still believes that social security will be around when we grow old, or started plowing their money into speculative investments etc. Has any one figured it out yet.. tick tock tick tock... time is ticking away... tick tock tick tock...... hmmmmmmm If you want to know who is running the show, and sterring the course of our economic future, then follow the money trail. F*ck Democrats and Republicans, and find the money tree, and there you will find the children of Avarice and the Demons of democracy. It isnt about our childrens's future, its about lining the pockets of the financial elite. dont be surprised if they are not all Americans and even our own Triumvirate in Washingon isnt about us, its about where we will be in ten years. If America is to survive I am afraid it is about how clever we manage our net gains and losses over the next eight years because the time of the cold war presidents is over, and it is time for us to move on. Im afraid even Mr. Obama, regardless of whether he fails or achieves his goals will fall short of the mark, and like Bill Clinton gain some praise from the politically myopic for being different or a Demoract, neither of which are indicative of a good leader... just popular. I asked a young woman of African American Heritage (by her own admission) whether she voted Democrat or Obama. She said she did so because he was black, he was different and he wasnt white. that is three race cards, but I will count them as one. I asked her what she know of Obama. She said that he inspired her. Now a man like Obama, that can inspire someone or a whole country is a powerful thing. So I asked her what she wanted Obama to do. She said she wanted America to acknowlege the accomplishments of her Race. another race card, but this still count as one because I am generous. I asked her if she ever voted before. In her thirty years she had never voted, nor became involved in politics. Her reason? Because she didnt believe in the candidates before Obama nor did she feel as if her own interests were accurately represented till now. And she has served in our own military for 6 years already. It isnt complex and it isnt terribly clever, but her logic is clear. Until she found a candidate that met her racial profile she didnt feel as if her vote meant anything. It isnt politics, it isnt even Obama's politics if believe his speeches, no it is racially motivated and reveals something that has been of burning concern for sometime. If we have racially polarized memebers of any political party, they have very quietly supported their own candidates for the past 30 years and cautiously and even candidly attempted to represent minority interests and vote as a community. Now it seems that the racial line or lines is now divided. Dont be surprised but not all people of colour voted for Obama, or even Hillary Clintion. In fact thediference in votes was much closer than many are willing to admit. That tax paying voters, regardless of political affiliation voted with their hearts as well as their minds and not along racial lines. Maybe I am naive, but I think not. If there is anything my thirty plus years of interest in politics has taught me is that things are not alwasy what they seem. A carefully managed campaign might make minority voters feel as if they have finally arrived on the political roadmap and achieved a great deal, but it was all Mr. Obama's achievement. A equally ambiguous poliitical campaign on the part of the Republicans has allowed the left to sink into an old comfortable chair for a little while and allowed the worms to start coming out of the mud for now, and Obama like Emporer Claudius will have his triumphs and failures, but he will have to face some terrible truthes, and that is that the American people will eventually find out where and why they have thre president they have now and it just migh rachet up their expectations, if not in the media, but much closer to home, in the white house. The carpet baggers will still come, and loans will have to be paid, and the next four years might a big rougher for everyone regardless of sex, race, colour or creed. Voters will always act on behalf of their own self interests... thats Democracy. Good Luck Obama.

Re: OBAMA wins
It's ashame most of the young people here on this site and out in the real world
let themselves be con"ed by OsamaObama, all his speeches when he first started campaigning have done a 180 degree turn, then another 180 turn,by this I mean he is an eloquinte speaker and tells the masses what they want to hear."I'm gonna tax the ritch and give it to the poor so we are more equal",sounds good,as a matter of fact and history it's exactly what stalin did in russia "Socialist Russia",before the walls came down.Point #2 In 3 of his speeches he is quoted as saying he wants to form a National Security Force, this to was done in history and is fact, where you ask,..Germany and the man who started it Adolf Hitler it's name the Gestopo, the SS. Now you can call me anything you want, but I'm way older than most of you here and can tell you everthing he is saying is Socialistic, you watch and see and learn, and I'll keep praying it doesnt happen, because if you want to see and be involved in a revolution yes a civil war let OsamaObama open that door, because real free thinking americans wont let him take us down that road with out a fight. If he is so into change then answer this why is he appointing all of Slick Willy Clintons staff back into office, can he not find new more qualified people for his cabinet, and he may ask Hillary to be his secretary of State, well when our freedoms start to go and big brother starts to regulate our evryday lives, remember it is what you ask/voted for. Change, yes the more thangs change the more they stay the same.

Re: OBAMA wins
if he can teach anything to his constiuents..is that there is no free lunch.
Bringing Hillary onboard is supposed to further heal the huge rift in the Democratic Party but I sincerely doubt it. Both of the Clintons should be watched carefully.

and IAMLAKOTA wins the Godwin's law award for this thread...
I think you've pretty much got the right of it all Falstaff. But as far as Hillary goes I think it's more of a "Keep your friends close & your enemies coser" thing. yep - taxes are gonna suck for the next long while. my blood pressure is gonna go through the roof as BO gets started grinding his socialism organ and all of us start dancing to the tunes...MY money going to people that don't deserve sh!t but are going to get it anyway.
