AFL-CIO backs Obama

Barack Obama solidified his union backing today, as the nation's largest labor federation formally endorsed him. The AFL-CIO's general board unanimously supported the presumptive Democratic nominee.

Gotta love the Republican response:

Quote:
Blair Latoff, a Republican National Committee spokeswoman, responded in a statement: “Nobody should be surprised that the AFL-CIO has endorsed Barack Obama considering his undying support for tax increases to fund big government programs. Barack Obama’s record of raising taxes and imposing government to set the priorities for working families are not the values most Americans are looking for in their next president. Voters looking for ‘change’ will find it in John McCain’s campaign to help working families, not the negative attacks from the AFL-CIO and Obama.”
For as long as I can remember (20+ years) the Republicans have always been using "taxes" as a way to get voted in or to attack the Dems...you'd think Americans would wise up eventually and notice these trips to the well.

Good job you lazy union bastards.

Unions used to mean something back in the day. Now all it means is complete shitheads get to keep their jobs even though there is probably someone qualified for the position.

Keep sticking it to capitalism and the American way of life you dumb f*cks!

Totally agree, I've yet to see a Union that does nothing but scam workers of fees and protects employees who do jack shit at the workplace.

as if the Democrats dont have the same method, as far as wising up, the average person that works for a living or is trying to save money for their children's future, can see that regardless of who is in charge, taxes and death are inevitable. Obama or McCain, taxes will continue to go up. Just look at England. Strong economy, read (high taxes)
Americans will eventually become like citizens of other wealthy nations and blame the government regardless of who is in charge.
Obama or McCain will not absolve people of the inherit responsibility of taking care of themselves and their ilk.
Obama and McCain have many virtues but neither will be able to avoid the subject of the growing lower middle class question, social welfare, socialized medicine, taxes, war, peace, military strength, government spending and the myriad of issues that all of the predecessors have faced and spun off.
Look how well the Clintons encouraged Americans to believe that that there was "new" way to borrow peter to pay paul. When it comes down to dollars and cents, common sense and financial responsibility being a Dem or a Rep is meaningless.
I want a candidate that wont blame the other guy for everything and attempt to convince the voters (read those that vote) that they have a new answer to the old question.
WHO IS GOING TO REDUCE THE NATIONAL DEBT.
If either McCain or Obama can figure that one out and balance the budget, then I would be impressed.
The old "republican this or democrat that" is rubbish.
I am not going to vote for Obama just because he has darker skin or McCain because he actually served his country, I WANT A FU*&ING PLAN!!!!!!!!!
