CNN Poll: Most Americans say Founding Fathers would be disappointed

According to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey, 69 percent of adult Americans who responded to a poll June 26-29 said the signers of the Declaration of Independence would be disappointed by the way the nation has turned out overall.

That defies all logic. I think this is only true because a majority of Americans are ignorant to American history.

If they only had an idea as to why the Declaration of Independence was signed, then they'd understand that all of the signers would be extremely happy as to what this country is all about.

You have to understand this country was built on trial and error, and a lot of people had no idea if it'd work or even last. If those signers had any idea of the repercussion of what they did after splitting from Britain, they'd die extremely happy.

Another reason of such a response to that poll is personal feelings. This poll should really be called "The percentage of people in the United States who are disappointed with the direction the country is taking."

These kind of polls piss me off, really. Just shows how dumb Americans can really be.

its all rubbish...
the founding fathers if there really ever was such a group by name or title would have noticed that lots of changes have occurred over the past 200 plus years and all for the advancement of the United States, which would have been far greater than anyone would have expected. Polls, in CNN or any other news source are typically flawed by any stretch of the imagination, including this alleged poll. Its like popular television and Nielson ratings...all rubbish.

Founding fathers is a misnomer, we shouldnt use it anymore because the nation
we know today was built upon the backs of slaves, native americans and women as well as our "founding fathers".
