I am actually against indian casinos, I think Native americans have lost all idelogy and identity, hence why you don't see us full blooded, full family in your local red lobster, your applebees, because a lot of em are to busy worrying about what could be instead of focusing on what should be. I think as a Shaman (elder inheriter of the tribe) that I woudl be more in touch with the issues then your want to be blogger elite.

As for Obama's Vote, So what? Abortion is such a bullshit issue, I'm sick of hearing about it, it will not fundamentally change at all ever. You can have a fully pro-life republican congress/president and it won't change. Unless they like the idea of fullblown outrage/revolt. People honestly need to shut the f up about Abortion it's a sidetrack issue. I like Obama more for his economic policy. Which if you actually read what he has in store instead of buying republican propogaanda it "sounds" like a good "plan". However no plan can be enacted without the support of congress. I also like the fact that hes for a more increased military presence in afghan, and for a non existant one in iraq. He'll probably cut funding for the military, up it for the vets, and use the extra money for his education plan. If you've looked at our budget we spend 9% on education... Yet no child is left behind... cough... bullshit. We've basically dumbed down our education so we can let the black kids catch up. Which is bullshit, Black people aren't dumb, they just need to be taught in their own way, and taught the same shit. We've plummeted off of science/math in our educational system. We need to get back on track, and these righty tighty people aren't going to do it with their scumbag social conservatism. I suggesty anyone who believe in the republicans actually looks up what republican means. If this was still the party of lincoln, I might actually go their way. but I'd rather vote for the "crazy black guy" then the moron white guy who's been in office 26 years, and then chose a "god sent us to iraq" Vp.

Oh Boy! I hope you have those suspenders on tight Buzzard because I just laughed my ass off reading these pieces on Palin. They easily tore her to shreds

I'd read the whole thing but he's a few of my fav quotes:

Palin: wrong woman, wrong message - Los Angeles Times

Quote:
Selecting Sarah Palin, who was touted all summer by Rush Limbaugh, is no way to attract most women, including die-hard Clinton supporters. Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton. Her down-home, divisive and deceptive speech did nothing to cosmeticize a Republican convention that has more than twice as many male delegates as female, a presidential candidate who is owned and operated by the right wing and a platform that opposes pretty much everything Clinton's candidacy stood for -- and that Barack Obama's still does. To vote in protest for McCain/Palin would be like saying, "Somebody stole my shoes, so I'll amputate my legs."
Quote:
I get no pleasure from imagining her in the spotlight on national and foreign policy issues about which she has zero background, with one month to learn to compete with Sen. Joe Biden's 37 years' experience.

Palin has been honest about what she doesn't know. When asked last month about the vice presidency, she said, "I still can't answer that question until someone answers for me: What is it exactly that the VP does every day?" When asked about Iraq, she said, "I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq."
Quote:
She was elected governor largely because the incumbent was unpopular, and she's won over Alaskans mostly by using unprecedented oil wealth to give a $1,200 rebate to every resident. Now she is being praised by McCain's campaign as a tax cutter, despite the fact that Alaska has no state income or sales tax. Perhaps McCain has opposed affirmative action for so long that he doesn't know it's about inviting more people to meet standards, not lowering them.
Why the media should apologize - Roger Simon - Politico.com

Quote:
But where did we go wrong with Sarah Palin? Let me count the ways:

First, we should have stuck to the warm, human interest stuff like how she likes mooseburgers and hit an important free throw at her high school basketball tournament even though she had a stress fracture.

Second, we should have stuck to the press release stuff like how she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere (after she supported it).

Third, we should never have strayed into the other stuff. Like when The Washington Post recently wrote: “Palin is under investigation by a bipartisan state legislative body. … Palin had promised to cooperate with the legislative inquiry, but this week she hired a lawyer to fight to move the case to the jurisdiction of the state personnel board, which Palin appoints.”

Why go there? What trees does that plant?

Fourth, we should stop making with all the questions already. She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.

Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.”

Fifth, we should stop reporting on the families of the candidates. Unless the candidates want us to.

Sarah Palin wanted the media to report on her teenage son, Track, who enlisted in the Army on Sept. 11, 2007, and soon will deploy to Iraq.

Sarah Palin did not want the media to report on her teenage daughter, Bristol, who is pregnant and unmarried.

Sarah Palin thinks that one is good for her campaign and one is not, and that the media should report only on what is good for her campaign. That is our job, and that is our duty. If that is not actually in the Constitution, it should be. (And someday may be.)
I haven't had a chance to read or hear her speech yet but I'm sure it'll get me giggling too.

Well, in regards to her speech, it would have been kinder if she would have just whipped out her Moose Gun and shot Obama...he would have been beaten up less.

"The difference between a Pit Bull and a Hockey Mom...lipstick"

I think if I was Joe Biden, I'd try 'calling in sick' on the days that his debates with her are scheduled.

"I have a news flash for the media..."

She looked at Obama, Biden, AND the media, stuck a knife in their ribs, twisted it, and smiled sweetly while doing so. They need to be afraid, very afraid.

EDIT: Joe Biden...37 years experience. What was the phrase again? Oh yeah, "Sara for more votes running for Mayor than Biden got running for President" This is going to be FUN.

I'm not sure why this keeps coming up, Biden got far more votes in his primaries than Palin had people in her town.

The short story for me...

She's obviously extremely bright - able to learn quickly, and grounded in the values I too hold dear. She handles herself well under pressure.

She's a mother of five, the latest just four months old and a special needs child - she obviously valued that life more than ease for her own. Her oldest daughter is unmarried and pregnant, and living at home. I've got to believe she's got major guts to make and/or accept those choices and all their intricate complications (some joyful, some trying) together with her husband, and live them out, and love her family through it all. She's knows what commitment means for sure. It also gives her (forces upon her - but she knew that when she chose...) many of the same immediate perspectives that millions of hard working families in this country have - mine in particular as well.

I'm sure she knows what it means have hope for and bring joy to each new day - for others, and herself.

I think she's as capable, as any of the four, of doing anything she really sets her mind and heart to - well and successfully. And she's proven it.

I heard John McCain's speech some too - and I believe he really will change the way the federal government runs itself.

I think she is, as Old Buzzard said, the REAL DEAL.

The race to lead America really has become very interesting - for me - because the four all look to be outstanding, well intended individuals. Change is definitely coming - I just hope it's smart, and effective for us here in America, and the rest of the world, truly.

I can't wait to hear the debates...

Even a conman is bright enough to know how to manipulate to get the results he/she wants.

As for the special needs child, I really hate that issue, No I don't beleive in the end all abortion but I am sick of hearing how "special" they are. Science should be finding away to help them, but keeps getting cock-blocked by pro life, bible thumpers. The point is, there should be no special needs, we should be genetically getting rid of downs syndrome/autism etc. Nobody should be born "special" It's kind of like ugly people saying beauty is on the inside.... I swear people make up phrases to make it sound "better" but in the end we only end up bringing people into this world that should NOT have to suffer. If "god" didn't want us messing with genetics, I'm sure we wouldn't be allowed the knowledge.

Ron Paul supporters' magical disappearing act - LA Times

Amidst all the talk and BS this is your GOP showing through with their true colors.
Who is this RP character anyway? No matter, im sure Palins smoke blowing on a national stage takes presidance over actual votes for the partys nomination.

When you take this kind of flak, you know you're over the target.

I don't disagree with that statement at all. Of course, what matters is intent. Brilliance is a tool that can be used for good or otherwise - seems to me though that her living example so far is that she has chosen the former - credit to Sarah Palin.

Being a scientist of sorts myself, I wholeheartedly agree we as a society should research to find a cure for whatever causes Down's Syndrome, Autism, and other brain/body disorders. The cure isn't here yet though - for this particular son of Sarah Palin - and since the child did not "pass on" in the womb of natural causes, he was allowed by Mrs. Palin to be born alive and otherwise healthy. Credit again to her, and her family, for agreeing that Trig's potential in life is worthwhile, and for having the fortitude and faith to accept the responsibility (with the myriad unknowns...) of raising him.

Heh, as for being ugly or handicapped, or not - we all have something pretty much...
