More details may have come out since I first read the breaking news but this sounded like a couple of rednecks with some handguns and shotguns dreaming way beyond their means. One of them probably opened his mouth when drunk and it got them arrested. I don't believe this was any sort of real threat to Obama.

Obama has the best security of any US President and racists (like these tools) are usually too dumb to be a real danger. I'm sure Obama will have an above average number of threats on his life but I don't believe he's at risk of assassination.

It would be also rediculious to ignore the amount of tension that showed up the moment obama was a candidate, and even more so that things seem to be showing in his favor..

Personally i have no problem with it, and i think it's pretty rediclious what people do, but i'm not that stupid to just figure all is well. Reguardless of the security measures, he'll likely be dead within the week, if not within the first term. Who knows maybe he'll get lucky.

WHAT?! You've been watching too many FOX tv shows where the President gets capped. It's not going to happen. We've all been conditioned to think Obama is too good to be true and he's so idealized that he'll be taken from us. I remember some voters even said they'd vote Republican out of fear Obama would be shot if he won!

The worst could happen, that's the life of the most powerful position in the world. At least Biden is highly qualified and will make a great President if that day ever comes.

All I'm saying is that the threat to Obama isn't as bad as you think. It's nothing the Secret Service can't handle. It'll take a highly motivated and professional killer to take him out and frankly that's mostly movie stuff, most assassins are just wack jobs with a pistol.

I disagree.

I think if anyone really wanted to kill a president regardless of who it is would be as easy as anything.

When the president is doing a walk around shaking people's hand and saying hello to everyone when he's fully exposed it would only take a second to pull a gun on him and put a few rounds into him before anyone would have time to react.

The person who did it would be caught of course without question since they would be so close to the secret service, but I don't think that will stop anyone.

That's just what I think will happen if it does.

I would not be shocked at all if it does and I would kind of expect someone to do it not from the USA because Obama as seen as soft and not experienced to handle such a big job.

I don't think it has happened yet, because the risk of him losing is still there and it would have been a pointless job. Now that it's getting closer and closer I would expect to see a few more reports and after Tuesday I would really become worried. If I was him that is.

All I know is that I would not want to be him lol..

People are fooled into believing the President is more exposed than he actually is. There are tons of snipers and undercover agents scanning the crown nonstop you'd probably be shot before you had the chance to pull the trigger. I'm not going to debate whether it is possible to kill a President, we know it can and will happen, it's doomsday style thinking to assume Obama will get killed because he's more of a target than other President's when he's got more security than any of them ever did.

Not that I'm asking for a show of hands but I'd be curious how many people think Obama will be shot also believe in those 9/11 conspiracy theories

As i've stated before, the acceptance of 9/11 being the way the media and the governments have stated it to be, is indeed dwindling into a minority and the minority is turning into a majority that it was mostly self induced. Every government has its skeletons, and I believe 9/11 is one of today's American government. But 100% certainty we will never have.

I also think that the president himself doesn't have that much power, and is a mere puppet in the strings of those on the posts 1 step under him. I mean, the president changes every 4, or 8 years.. those under him are there for life, and I think they have the real power. They can feed the president the information they want him to know.. wouldn't be surprised if George W. Bush really thought there were WMD's in Irac.

Well, i've been hearing the rumors to that. and i've also heard the counter rumors that if McCain wins, he'll die of old age. So, if the rumor holds true, pick your best VP!

As for a presidential death, i was expecting it to be our current president, jr., due to Tecumseh's curse. But it seems that Regan put an end to that curse...

Am i.. If the people that the public don't see is getting what they want from the president, therefore having zero reason to kill him reguardless of what the public wants/doesn't want..... vs the president giving the public what they want which may be against those few specific people wishes would then give those few specific people reason to kill him.

We aren't talking about joe blow being a few specific people.....
