What would you like Obama to do for America or the World?

Alright folks, the media, the American People and worlds has wieghed in on Obama, but now its time to address the promises of his campaign.
Regardless of the rhetoric, what would you all like Obama to do in the next 4 or 8 years?

It doesn't matter any more.

The world is going straight to hell and I just hope I'm not here for the ride.

Dibs on SFOSOK's video card & monitor once he's "not around".

Ok, seriously...

1. Pull out of Iraq. Don't care how long it takes...just initiate it.
2. Do something with Afghanistan. Either go all in or get out completely.
3. Improve America's image abroad. It'll take him 4 years to do it (at least) but it's possible for Obama to erase the swaggering warmonger image the USA has gotten under Bush.

And finally...

4. Make it cheaper for me to upgrade my computer: First, by inspiring investor confidence. I don't expect Obama to fix the economy but if he can bullshit his way into the hearts of Wall Street screwjobs it might provide a boost which in turn could send stocks up. Canada's dollar took a huge plunge when the economy in the US tanked but as you recover so does our dollar; once the Canadian dollar is back to par our computer prices will be as cheap as USD rather than the ridiculous price difference we have now. End result: Hundreds of $$$ saved on a new PC

For America: adhere to and strenghten the value of the constitution. For the World: act in line with international law and work to have others do the same.

Re: What would you like Obama to do for America or the World?

I want Obama to undo pretty much everything that King George II did.

But really, I want to see and end to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. I also want strong and healthy international relationships.

Make an attempt to fix Iraq first before pulling out so it doesn't turn into another Afghanistan.

Deport the millions of illegal immigrants in California and increase border security.

Not be a liberal democrat who will drive this country faster into a depression.

Gabriel_Etranil is on a distinguished road

Re: What would you like Obama to do for America or the World?

To not screw the county over in the 4 years he has it.
For him not to do anything that would lead to an abolishment of any of the amendments.
Having him not make any crucial mistakes in his 6 month world test.
To not be a socialist that wears a pleasant face.
Well heres too hoping 'cause hope is all we've got with Obama.

Re: What would you like Obama to do for America or the World?

I work with people of colour, that are equally mixed about whether voting for Obama was the right move, rather it was anything but another Republican in the white house, but with one exception, they voted because they percieve him and his campaign as a "Minority Victory" and his administration represents an oppurtunity to revisit and heal old wounds and enact social reforms for the benefit of his constiuents. But nothing could be further from the truth. If Obama is going to fix the economy, he most certainly has to take the money from one pot and put it into another, or eliminate the majority of "stealth" programs that fund miliitary projects, overseas investment and our miliitary and political influence overseas.
He will have to address illegal immigration.
He will have to address education.
He will have ot address overhauling social security.
He will have to address pollution.
He will have to address global warning.
He will have to address Senatorial, and Congressional squabbling.
He will have continue to uncover corruption in government.
He will have to address Pork Barrel spending.
He will have to change the direction of the U.S. economy.
I am sure the list goes on and on.
His record as a senator of Illinois hardly prepared him for this task, rather it was his pulpit.
Now he must address the nation's ills and create a timeline for his initiatives and reforms.
Good Luck....
Because if there is anything that Obama is saying, over and over again, is getting Americans to take responsibility for the future of their country. That means putting people back into the job market, getting people to pay taxes and cutting back.
Standby America, this guy means business and he will accomplish his goals whether we like it or not.
I am not an Obamaphile, but I have read his speechs since 2005 and reviewed his voting history. If you thought McCain was a Maverick then STFB, because Obama will surprise his critics and his supporters, or so it seems.
