Guns-in-Church Bill Killed in Arkansas State Senate
An Arkansas state Senate panel on Wednesday rejected a bill that would allow concealed handguns in churches. But they didn't do it for what might be the common sense reason, meaning "why does someone need to carry a concealed weapon into a church," but rather after opponents complained that allowing firearms defies the notion that religious buildings are sanctuaries.

It's just a building like any other...why not? If anything it's the one place you know there won't be any security to protect you and we've seen enough church shootings to know crazies like to shoot up churches.

Seems to me that the guy that the ARMED PARISHINER in that Colorado church had to shoot not too long ago wasn't aware that "religious buildings are sanctuaries" I guess we need yet another liberal "awareness campaign" for this.

What is about the fact that to someone who is going to ignore it anyway, that a Gun free zone = target rich environment just can't seem to penetrate the skulls of the anti-gun crowds pointy little heads?

Liberals need to take their heads out of their nether regions, and wake up to the fact that this isn't "the fairy tail land where everyone is always nice" that they somehow think it is. Out here in the real world, there are some people that are just plain evil, and some that have some mental defect, and those people do not care about any "laws', and routinely ignore them.

Though I dislike guns and churches equally I have to agree with Buzzard. There's also a bit of hypocrisy at play when people fight for gun freedoms but then strip that freedom away to suit their beliefs.

I take issue with this; I classify myself as a liberal, and fervently support the rights of individuals, including the right to bear arms.

That way when the jackass mental case that wants to kill everyone of a religion that isn't his own storms in with a combat rifle he will be completely free to kill as many people as possible until he runs out of ammo or someone gets a really lucky shot with a huge stone bound Bible to the back of the guy's head.
