Re: 2 Policemen facing drugs charge
Under Australian law, if YOU were facing the same charges, would you also be entitled to bail?
If so then, I see nothing wrong with them posting bail. Yes, they are Policemen and are held to a higher standard, but not to the point that they are denied rights that the common citizen enjoys.

Re: 2 Policemen facing drugs charge
I guess the courts see it different though? Like being a policeman that takes drugs would incite to the community that it is ok morally to do so, so they lose their common rights?

Re: 2 Policemen facing drugs charge
Why incarcerate them until the charges are proven?

Re: 2 Policemen facing drugs charge
it's how it's usually done here in the states. because then that way if that person is the suspect, they already have the suspect in custody.
besides, any jail time served by the suspect while in detention will typically go towards their overall jail/prison sentence. so, if they're locked up for 4 months before they're proven guilty, they'll have 4 months shaved off of a 10yr. term or w/e, haha. |

Re: 2 Policemen facing drugs charge
I for one am not afraid of the police. I have no need to be. I am not a crime commiter. Every encounter I have had with any police I have always owned up to everything. I even go out of my way to seem so, as to gain a trusting relationship (grounds) with said police (law provider). I am a citizen not a cop. Why is it being a cop they would not feel this way as I do. Instead of confessing the truth to God in their faces they hide to themselves and drag the media throught the court system which is more money the pop has to pay! Get a life you coward scumm. I'm prouder than you and you'll never find that!! lol P.S. The dumbest thing a policeman ever said to me was, while I was hanging out with some people, how do you feel now that you're wacked off your tree!?!? What's that supposed to mean dickhead!!! LOL
