Are you kidding me? The democrats OWN this problem. It started back with that dumb ass Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) which Jimmy Carter signed into Law. Later, DEMOCRATS like BARNY FRANK, and others, strong armed lenders and forced them to make loans to people that they KNEW were enable to re-pay them. They went so far as to make the lenders consider WELFARE, and UNEMPLOYMENT checks as income.

The Republicans tried on numerous occasions to reform what was happening, and were stopped by the DEMOCRATS every time.

So, what ever you might 'think", or wish...the FACT is that the rat bastard democrats ARE to blame, and anyone that does 5 minutes of googling can see it for themselves.

My suggestion? vote independent . I hate both parties equally and without recourse. Because here's the deal, not only did the democrats royally shaft the economy with all those reforms for people that in the long run should have really just spent their money more wisley but the republicans seem to have a way of burning through stacks and stacks of federal funds and spin their wheels. So from my point of view one party perpetuates the others screw up back and forth. its a huge snow ball and they all need to wake up.

Well said. If ANYONE thinks that this started recently, or that the Democratic party has nothing to do with the current recession (look into both Presidents Carter and Clinton's tenures in office), they're lying to themselves. We've never truly recovered from the economic downturn in the seventies and I don't think a smiley glad-hand who happens to be the first Afro-American President will be bailing us out; he would have to have started the reform almost thirty years ago. The recession is retroactive, remember? These are old debts and financial decisions from forty fucking years ago just starting to catch up with us.

Just think what this country will be like for my daughter...

this particular line really struck me. government health programs are a good thing for those who do not have any health insurance, like myself, that they can afford.

the elderly having government based health insurance is alright, it's nothing i can say that they shouldn't have. but i'm sure that as the baby boomer population ages, some of which is already in, the number of the elderly depending on government health programs will continue to grow.

the poor having goverment health insurance should only have government based insurance if they can meet all requirements for such aid. if you're poor, but have a job that gives you an option for health insurance, then there is no need for such person to apply for government health insurance. but people still do.

once this recession is over, whenever it'll be over, the amount of "poor" people on government health insurance should decrease significantly.

even though i do not have any health insurance, i will not apply to any kind of government funded health insurance unless i truly needed it. i know that once i am in a position to get health insurance through my place of work with my current or future employer, i will then have health insurance. but for now, i won't.

I always wanted a guy that came from the middle class, the group of people most affected by the changes made due to politics. But I know he would be shot dead/wouldn't win because the upper class politicians have the money and the connections to win.

I haven't bothered to vote in a while due to all the BS that occurs with the final tallying of votes. The funny thing is, the more I read about certain events, and read about those far fetched theories on where we are going the more I'm starting to believe them because they had the foresight to see it happening before it did.

What's so important about politics anyway. If I'm driving to get a movie and some asshole pulls up along side me to drag, I'm like yeah right dude. I can judge when there's no traffic so although your car is faster than mine I can pull off sooner than you cause I'm smarter in the face and teeth. I smile and drive off slowly.
