Well the opening paragraph is 100% true. The army ignores the fact that a lot of their solders are not deployable due to various injuries or psychological conditions....

I have seen it first hand. I have worked in Kuwait and Iraq alongside our soldiers. (I am a civilian contractor) I have also seen these same people that are non-deployable.. be given a stop-loss when their enlistment in the army was done.

I couldn't bear to read the rest of this article, but most the stuff about calling PVT Rich, PVT Bitch and telling him he was stupid to marry a certain person sounds just like something that certain people in the army would do.

The army isn't supposed to interfere in anyone's personal affairs, but when you sign the contract to join the military you are government property.

THe article is full of half truths and outright hyperbole.
I see this sort of thing all the time.
If you take the military out of the equation and put that person in the private sector it would have been much worse for anyone attempting to get care.
The military if anything is nothing without its people, and for every hard luck story there are a greater number of stories of hope and faith.
I served proudly in two conflicts and so have my father and my brother and my grandfather before me.
There have always been situations where military service men and women experience hardship, loss and need medical care, but like all things, nothing is fair.
If anything, the service member needs to know what their rights and responsiblities are while they are on active duty and afterward.
Fully half of our patients here in our hospital are vets that have returned from active duty and need medical care or assistance.
Life in the civilian community is much harder.
I have to say, it was easy to shred this article and sort out the truth, and there was very little.

Its just that when you have the biggest guns , the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons and 95% of media behind you, its hard to be heard , your voice drowns in the sea of their control.

@ BlueMak the news globally is pretty much an echo if not a direct copy of what you hear from CNN, the mainstream news media that are directly critical of the states and its policies are Arab news stations, but I've seen them, and they don't cover the whole truth they tend to touch on anti-american sentiment and support it, but they dont go further than that, the people behind them after all are the same people who are partnered to the states in many profitable businesses partnerships ,so they tend not to be too critical as say compared to Peter Joseph or Michael Moore.

Well to me its like the US has virtually everyone dancing to their beat, as for the article I think it stands for itself.
If what it says is true or even partly so then it warrants further investigation and people must step up to ensure it doesn't happen again.
We shouldn't quickly dismiss allegations just because they sound far fetched Auschwitz was pretty hard to believe to the people who were around when it happened, they too dismissed it until they saw the horror of the concentration camps,

I have to say, that I immediately dismiss the hype and watch carefully anything I am interested in the news.
The UK media for example appears to be terribly polarized and the US as well. I read and watch the German news for some objectivity.
I am very conservative and seldom accept anything I read without first getting other sources.
You can take the Ft. Hood murders as a good example of what can happen when the news networks have free reign with whatever they can scrape up.

I don't also prescribe to blaming everything on the powerful elite or the U.S (that's retarded), they are after all products of our value system, so they are acting out what the system taught them.
We are all to blame, the blame falls on all of us, its up to all of us to change our values.

With technology going the way it is ,quite soon this political system will become redundant (assuming it isn't already)& will be replaced by a worldwide interconnected transparent Information system that everyone will be able to interface with and a countries decisions will be made directly by the people and not by an elite or a small group of people, that's what I hope for my kids or grand kids @ least,they will have their future in their hands and not in the hands of an elite few.

You see here is the problem with many of the muslims. While, and good for them, are quick to respond to anything they see as unfair or hurtful for muslims, when muslims do anything to others who are not muslims, they shut the frak up about it.

Sudan is one case, want more? Take Palestine. The arabs living there were told by the arabs around them (Jordan, Syria etc) to leave their land so that Israel can be pressured more easily and if it all reaches total war, it would be easier to contact operations there. Israel never told palestinians to leave, but the other countries in the area they keep "forgetting" that.

Then, even if we accept that Israel is 100% at fault, and we see how muslims are really upset over the occupation, why don't we see any similar outrage against Turkey's occupation of the 40% of Cyprus? Perhaps because Turkey is a muslim country and Cyprus is not...

History is filled with this hypocrisy.

And Abu Ghraib? A jail that was torture against prisoners, a horrible thing. Almost as bad as suicide bombers killing hundrends of people each week in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, right? Well, no, I am sure Abu Ghraib is much worse, correct?
