Re: Sthrn California Floods

Since I live in the beautiful sunshine state of California, I'll let you in on a little secret of the current weather: Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

I live in the heart of all this flooding, and it's been raining for 7 days pretty much nonstop. It's good to find out there are leaks in my house that I didn't know existed before. Due to the location, we were always prepared for earthquakes (all these stupid faults near us), and also fire (at least one major wildfire every year). However, I don't think any resident expects a flooding disaster lol. They actually declared severe thunderstorms and flash flood warnings across all major counties near where I live.

I lived in CA for awhile and it struck me as funny, everything was a major event. In Ohio we have 50 mph wind and it's call "gusty".... in CA it's "Killer winds!!!!" WTF!

We take the same attitude for wildfires occurring in non-California too . Just got desensitized from repeated events over the years, which is why this flooding incident is hitting the news everywhere because it almost never happens here.

That sounds a lot like NSW in here in Aust. They are always getting a lot of heavy rain, floods and especially bushfires pretty much every year.
