Default Post That wacky Bush!

I don't know if it's a true quote or not, but I'm STILL laughing my ass off from it:

Quote:
"Blair, Bush and [French President] Jacques Chirac were discussing economics and, in particular, the decline of the French economy. 'The problem with the French,' Bush confided to Blair, 'is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur.' "
You can read the full story here. I can't write about this for a bit, I gotta go clean a piece of half-chewed pizza from my monitor.....

Here's a few more Bushisms!

"I know that human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully." Saginaw, Mich. Sept 29,2000.

"It's important for the people of our nation to realise that life is important. It's not only life of babies, but it's life of children living in, you know, the dark dungeons of the internet." Arlington Heights Oct 24, 2000.

"The fact that he relies on facts is going to undermine his campaign." New York Times Mar 4 2000.

"Thats a chapter, the last chapter of the 20th, 20th, the 21st century that most of us would rather forget. The last chapter of the 20th century. This is the first chapter of the 21st century." On the Lewinsky scandal Oct 24 2000.

The first one is my personal favourite! I'll sleep a lot more soundly knowing that!

Yeah, being a total moron tends to mess up ones public speaking abilities. I'm sure he just comes across as merely "ignorant and uninformed" up close and private.

BTW-Great quotes Kinetic, I'm still chuckling.

That assertion is absolutely ridiculous.

Unintelligent people don't make it into Yale and Harvard, much less leave with a MBA.

An unintelligent man couldn't have handled the aftermath of 9/11. Think of how the man must have been bombarded by information, and a thousand different opinions. He had to keep his cool through all of that, appear calm to the American people, and get stuff done. Didn't he?

Knowing how to delegate responsibilities to a competent and impressive staff -- that isn't intelligent?

Handling China during the E-P3 incident without apologizing and acquiescing like any good Liberal would -- that wasn't intelligent?

Right.

No that is not intelligent.

Anyone can attend Harvard or Yale and leave with an MBA(does he have an MBA? I though he had another degree..... oh well). Matter of fact i would say that the only thing an MBA is useful for is wiping your Arse. And even then it seems wasteful to spend four years getting it. (Talk about waiting to go to the jon).

But let me rephrase that. An MBA is useful for something... it means you work hard. But it most certainly does not mean that you are intelligent or skilled.

I would base my opinions of Bush on the only information that i have on him: the information provided me by the media. I, of course, understand that it is mostly not factual, and that they highlight his bad side. But this is fine by my because i disagree with his political views and i have no control over his actions or the presidency (non voter for several reasons).

So while on the one hand Bush managed to handle the 9/11 crisis, i do not believe that he addressed the situation properly. Also, if you take a look back, Bush was about to be put into the middle of some deep sh*t (worldcom and enron style.... fraud) right before 9/11. So i cannot look back on that day without some disdain for it blocking bushes more than slightly lackluster past. (i do realize the gravity of september 11, i was in my government class when it went down... i watched it along with 500 other students on our lecture hall projector... i don't ever wanna be in that room again).

And in order to tie things up:

Bush is dumb.... i diss him and his administration... except for Collin Powell (who should have run for president) and Secretary of Transportation N. Mineta. (there are others, but i doubt you all know of them and it would take too long to list).

Oh, really? I'll give you a $1000, Yeti, if you apply to Harvard right now and get it. They won't even waste the time to send you a letter of rejection. Are you kidding? Anyone can get in? Is that why they turn down 89% of the people that apply?

All I can say is I thank God that we didn't have another weak-willed, chickenshit liberal in office. Everyone probably only remembers Bill Clinton for his lewd acts, but let's look a little at his foriegn policy, SHALL WE? What did he do in response to our troops dying at the hands of Al Qaeda in Somalia? Nothing. How about when a terrorists bombed the World Trade Center? What did Clinton do? Did he visit? Did he look for the root of the problem? No. The Palestinian Liberation Organization (Arafat's organization) started some of the first training camps for terrorists -- but wasn't Arafat a freqent guest at the White House? What did Clinton do about the bombing of the USS Cole? Nothing.

Actually, you know what -- he did do something. He sent the message to the world that terrorism will go unpunished.

So, what, precisesly, is wrong with how Bush handled 9/11? It's the first time in eight years someone's had the balls to do something.

Bush CHOSE his Cabinet. If they're good --which they are-- that was a good, intelligent choice on his part.

BTW, Yeti, if you want to bring Enron and Big Business into this, maybe you should know a few things about the Clinton administration and Enron. Namely, how Clinton received $125,000 from Enron and how he supported with taxpayer money a corrupt Enron excursion into Indonesia -- we won't even go into the illegal Chinese fundraising activities.

Dude, the only reason that he got accepted was cuz his father was a president. Trust me. It doesn't take intellectual knowledge for everyone. My friend knows a person that got into Harvard with a 2.7 GPA because she could play sports. Yup, that's right. Oh yeah, Bush made C's in school. It is not a hidden fact. People know. I don't understand how he got elected president...

My cousin's friend got a scholarship to Princeton because he could run Cross Country...

Your ignorance is astounding. I am sincerely stunned.

George W. Bush earned his BA at Yale in 1968, and his MBA at Harvard in 1975. Maybe you don't know your history too well, but George Bush Sr., um, wasn't president prior to '68.

Nice try, though.

Holy crap!

You know, I really have to apologize, because I really did think this was the Flame Zone! I really was thinking "Be normal in the Israeli thread, flame in the Bush thread." Sorry about that.

I'm really not that belligerent or disagreable ususally, but I do, admittedly, let loose a little in the FlameZone. I didn't mean to call you ignorant here, and if I said it in the FlameZone, it would only be in good fun. We've spoke before in other threads, and I do believe you're quite quick-witted and articulate.

I do sincerely apologize.

Exactly. At the time, people thought Eisenhower was a scatterbrained, airheaded, old man. Now we know that he was fiercely intelligent, chose his words carefully, was a master of obfuscation, and worked primarily behind the scenes.

If you are going you state an opinion that is basically an assumption, you should be prepared to argue. If you don't want to even attempt at backing up an argument or a statement, why make one in the first place? I can understand why you are frustrated, but there is no point in giving up on something without even really trying. With that attitude, you won't get anywhere in life.

Sure, the whole argument thing may be geting old, but you really must finish what you start.

You're right, his daddy was just another typical multi-million dollar politician at the time who was wasting his time working his way up the ladder at the FBI. (Oh, and wasn't daddy & grandaddy both involved in that frolicking fraternity over there...the skull & bones or something...)

Nope, he did it all on his own I'm sure...family connections obviously had nothing to do with it since his daddy wasn't president yet.

Default Post Dubya who?

Bush may be dumb, but the American sheeple aren't much better. Look at the election results in this article on CNN. Seems that they don't realize that the winner actually is the person that gets the Majority of votes. Not like Bush is really in the driver's seat anyway as can be seen in the first line of this Story about a foreign head of state bragging that his country really runs America.

Here are some more quotes from another great political intellect, Al Gore.

"It isn't pollution that's harming our environment, It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it."

"It's time for the human race to enter the Solar System!"

"For NASA space is still a high priority"

"If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure."

"I was recently on a tour of Latin America and, the only regret I have, is that I didn't study Latin harder in school so that I could converse with those people."

"It's deja vu all over again."

No, the winner is the person that get the most electoral votes. That's the law. That's the way it's always been done. Thank God it works that way, if Al Gore became president I would have to leave America for a better place, like Somalia.

Anyway, the election would not of had problems if the election in Florida wasn't so corrupt. I can't believe that they wanted to count every ballot that had both candidates punched out as a vote for Gore. That is complete bullshit, the ballots are invalid, end of story. You don't know who they voted for and no one can decide for them. Also, I find that the people counting weren't exactly the most dependable. I've heard a little too much about how people were trying to not include many of the ballots belonging to Bush, usually through the mass destruction of ballots when no one was watching. BTW, the stupid media declared that Gore won Florida before the ballots were officially done, considering the the panhandle of Florida is in a different timezone. Reminds me of all the shit that happen in the Philadelphia elections, like John Street paying homeless people, with cigarettes, to register and vote as people who were already deceased. It makes me sick. I hate America sometimes.

Israel can brag about they want, I'm sure that if they tried to make us do something stupid, we most definitely would not go along with it.

By the way, anyone remember the Gore quote that was something like "I invented the internet." Then, when questioned about is stupid statement, he said something along the lines of "I took the initiative to invent the internet." Whatever he said, it was pure bull.

"As you look at this striking comparison, keep in mind that we're told that one of these two people is a brilliant Rhodes Scholar - even though he never completed the course of studies. Keep in mind that we're told that one guy is smarter than the rest of the room, and that we were fortunate just to have had somebody with this intellect leading us. Yet that's the guy with the lens caps on his binoculars!"

"The other guy? He's said to be a frat boy idiot who doesn't even know where he is when he's at the DMZ. But he has the lens caps off. It's enough to make you question the media templates of Bush as a dope and Clinton as a genius - at least, we hope it is."

Mwahahahaha

Oh well JavaFox, about the Clinton and Bush at the DMZ, so Bush got the goggles right but I'd still be ready to bet a grand that Bush couldn't pull a sex "scandal" (a.k.a. just another dumb and stupid reason to impeach) with the style and manner that Bill did. And also, Bush and every other modern US president signs papers. They don't actually run the country. As long as he looks like he is kissing babies, helping the starving and looking all mighty, the country will think that he's god or something. It's his staff that actually does the hardwork as well as the Army, FBI and CIA. The picture only proves that both Clinton and Bush are little "partially-dumb" puppets.

Can I slap you now? I think he was impeached because of perjury and obstruction of justice, something which people like us would go to jail for.

Go ahead mate... I like a good beating from time to time!

No but seriously being impeached cuz you had an extra maritial affaire? I'm all for it, but did you realize that there is at least 40% of those congressmen that have constant affaires? If you can't apply the law to every person possible, don't apply it on a single person. Even if he's the president. Besides, Hillary looks ugly and Clinton really needed a good BJ. I'd get horny too if I was stuck in the Whitehouse all day.
