The fact is that if two people love each other and devote their lives to each other, as a woman and man would, then they should be allowed to marry and collect benefits. Without those important benefits ANYONE whose spouse dies, etc., would be ruinned. Banning gay marriage for any reason would be unconstitutional. |

Lets not attack individual posters, ok? Prove him wrong if you disagree, but its his stance that you take issue with, not the person, right?

i feel that compeltely and unwaiveringly standing by anything is wrong. If someone can show you a valid flaw with your beliefs, perhaps they ARE right? No one political entity, be it candidate, party, or otherwise, is worth devout affiliation with, nor have they done anythign deserving of such. Closed mindedness and political complacency scares me far more then any candidate does. The idea of a republic is that when we disagree with someone we can change it, or atleast change them and find someone we disagree with less, NOT build unwaivering allegiances with people like Mr. Dubya and then go around hackign and slashing at everyone else who has a different opinion. Fanaticism is the bane of our society And now I feel the sudden urge to define the 'liberty' (notice it's liberty, and not 'freedom') we are granted via the constitution. Liberty is freedom that is dictated by and within the bounds of reason and common sense. It is a guaged freedom that CAN NOT impede with other's abilities to enjoy the same liberty. This and this alone are why I personally am not going to vote for Mr. Bush come november. He has taken much 'liberty' in monkeying with the economy, and far to many 'liberties' in marching our army into other people's backyards and making a fool of himself and our national image as a whole. It's time we give someone else a chance...Bush had his. *grabs a coke and some lucky charms and goes back to bed* |

Neon, you make less and less sense each time you post. I do not know where you get your numbers and facts from, but I doubt they're anymore reputable than 9/11 conspiracy theory sites.
Marriage between a man and a woman is not different than a marriage between a gay couple. Men and women have equal rights. Men have the right to marry, as do women. Therefore, men can marry men, and women, women. To suggest otherwise is to suggest that gays are second-class citizens. If marriage is a religious thing as you say it is, then no marriage should be performed by a state. Due to separation of church and state. You have almost no basis for augment. If you don't think a judge has the jurisdiction to marry a couple regardless of state law, then you have either no respect or understanding of American law. Furthermore, to suggest that because a judge allows a gay couple to wed, he/she must too be gay is ignorant. You also obviously don't understand that states can have different laws, such as the death penalty and three strike laws. The fact is that if you actually did research you would find out that most divorces are between men and women. And that spousal abuse and infidelity are almost completely something that only straight couples do. If you think we should amend the constitution to ban gay marriage, then perhaps we should amend it to ban certain types of firearms too. And make all laws the same in every state. You cannot have one without the other, Neon. |

Captn, I don't suppose you can try and refute his points instead of calling what he said 'liberalism' and acting as if that was denunciation enough?

Neon, you've mentioned many time in this thread that both of the mare bad candidates and your merely picking the lesser of two evils, then why do you defend Bush so strongly if your just picking him, because he better than Kerry.
