Teaching about the Declaration of Independence banned in California School

I suppose objective description of events is beyond us here, isn't it?

This is just one case; giving handouts of the declaration of independence to fifth graders in one classroom by one particular teacher in one Californian school has been stopped. This isn't any bigger than that.

To me, this means that this teacher was clearly causing problems, likely religion-related. No normal teacher is required to pass their lesson plans or handouts past the principal without good reason, and it is my strong suspicion in this case that the teacher was acting in an inappropriate manner that happened to be religious.

Actually, every teacher in my county is required to submit their lesson plans and syllabus at the beginning of each year for review. I dont know if it is actually looked over, more likely it is just for referrence if a problem occurs...but still.

Can't talk about God in public schools because there's a seperation of church and state... I just wonder why it's acceptable for the president to mention him everyday and to claim God told him to invade Iraq.

He did not claim God told him to invade Iraq. But as I'm sure you noticed at the last election, we got a lot of religious conservatives in this nation, and if he happens to mention God it's to win the support of those voters.
