Yeah I understand, however for a main theme, black isnt really a good first impression

Looked at Techheaven, but it seemed bulkier, went back to slim and trim Skyheaven - you know me, VBB standard with a site logo slapped on the top would do me, and I like the "wide" approach.

Well, I looked, but on "best use of space", I'll stick with Sky.

PS. Judged only on the forum, as I'll take what works best for me there, just so long as it works ok on the front page.

yes, we were actually thinking of at some stage just making a very plain theme with minimal graphics for those who just like the text. however a default theme needs to be a little more advanced than that.

i like it, but like BWX said, not enough to use it for my theme. I also prefer the darker colors.

Still looks pretty sharp though, don't get me wrong. It looks great for a default theme

On overall I like it. Definitely the best of the recent creations.
A nice balance on the contrast, even if the white is a wee bit too bright. It's also a bit bulky in the way how even small posts take up a lot of space, and the graphics are a little heavy when scrolling. So a small variation of this skin would make perfect.

Edit: Not so easy to spot threads in which you've written previously. Make the symbol light up or have the background of that field change.

nonsense. the code is fine, and its centered perfectly (you are obviously running it at a low resolution). ive found the theme works best in firefox as there are some text display issues in opera which we need to fix. funny thing is 3dfusion.de isnt centered in my browsers and your artic cooling ad runs over the header if you make the window small and your nav bar wraps down two layers and forces all the tables over to the right

I am runnig 1280x1024, but my browser window is not maximized. On the left and right side of the layout are around 80px "for nothing" - therefore it doesn't look centered when using a resolution below 1280x1024 (maximized!).

It's perfecty centered in IE6, Opera and Firefox and still displays at 1024x768. And hey, we don't talk about a comparison here

well it depends how complex you want a site to look and whether you want to break some rules to get things displaying in particular ways. I mean to have a standard template with flexible tables and a graphic "plonked" in the top left is really easy to make totally standards compliant but it hardly assures people of coming to a top level site. Well thats cool, but some people arent, and I think its a little arrogant of you to be coming here and critising code when in fact your own code is basically a really simple template design and you havent correctly stopped the tables wrapping or an ad header completely cover the site header or your nav running down onto two lines and pushing important content to the right making it unreadable.... if that is your defination of being totally compliant and having a tick mark in a checker you can keep it
