I didn't say that this is the only thing that makes me choose ATT over CCC. I chose ATT because it has all functions I need (and more) and in addition it is smaller, faster, less memory hungry (and not .NET-based).

I guess i'm the odd man out voting for the new nVidia panel. Provides the power user options that the old one did and implements the 3d preview and whatnot.
I suppose the whole memory (RAM) intense thing is a problem but then again, we're gonna be using Vista in a year and 4GB ram is probably something that's realistic as opposed to overkill. nVidia new -> nVidia old -> ATI old -> ATI new In that order of what it allowed you to control. I'm not a big fan of having to run a 3rd party utility on top of the default control panel just to get some basic gaming stuff. Either that or go into the Registry. They're gaming companies after all.

Both of my current systems have ATI cards. However, that is a change that occurred this year. So I don't really remember ATI's old Control Panel. And I have never used Nvidia's New Control Panel.
Used to be that I preferred Nvidia's Control Panel and drivers. Though I was envious of ATI's more regular driver release schedule. Now, ironically, I don't update my drivers as frequently due to the fact that ATI drivers have to be uninstalled before installing a new set. Oh well, I'm sure this will all change very soon. When Vista is released to the Public, my guess is that, AMD/ATI will stop making regular WinXP driver releases. |

I voted for the ATI CCC because it has grown on me since it was released.
I've tried the new nVidia panel at work and thus far the only thing I like about it is the monitor color wizard thing. It made getting two different monitors to match up much easier than doing it by hand. 1. ATI CCC 2. ATI Classic 3. nVidia Classic 4. nVidia new

I'm going to say I like the newer Nvidia one due to it being the one I had to use to get my plasma properly configured.
Although, color management was more straight forward on the old CP IMO. |
